  1. Tbh, it genuinely is impossible to be online/active 24/7 on Fiverr and nor has it been proven that staying online gets you more orders. Yes, it is important to be responsive to requests but not at the expense of you, your lifestyle or other aspects. Buyers are rationale people - they know that timezones are in play and it may not be possible to get immediate responses from people on the other side of the world. If they have time on their hands, they’ll wait. If they have an urgent requirement, they’ll keep moving along and it’s okay. You’ll find other buyers who are prepared to wait for you to get back to them.

  3. But that’s the issue, isn’t it? Since it has been “delivered” within time (even if it’s one measly portion of the complete requirement), it will not reflect as a late delivery for the seller. So, the buyer can’t use it as a reason for cancellation as well then, right? Revisions, to the best of my knowledge, don’t affect the metrics of the seller. So they’re in a win win of sorts. Maybe (not entirely sure of this, the others forum members can weigh in with their opinions as well), your grounds for a compelling case for CS can be that you didn’t receive the completed requirements as per the gig’s description in the first delivery, and by right of the TOS, you’re entitled to the complete delivery (which the seller has failed to provide). @captainwarlord
  4. Well, not directly asking, but more like this (excerpt): Well, of course I’m gonna request a revision when the delivery is incomplete. This was posted along with the first delivery. Keep in mind that they no longer send me revisions to decline, but rather as messages in the activity panel. I still have the first delivery as the only delivery attempt, but it’s been in revision since 1 day after order. By the way, this is a TRS with 1k+ reviews. Hmmm. This is what Fiverr’s TOS has to say on this particular aspect: Sellers must deliver completed files and/or proof of work using the Deliver Work button (located on the Order page) according to the service that was purchased and advertised on their Gig.The Deliver Work button may not be abused by Sellers to circumvent Order guidelines described in these Terms of Service. Using the “Deliver Work” button when an Order was not fulfilled may result in a cancellation of that Order after review, affect the Seller’s rating and result in a warning to Seller. Also, just out of curiosity, when did you place your order, and how long past the actual deadline has it been?
  5. Yes true, late is late. If you’ve overshot the deadline, it does pop up as late. I had an order marked late, even though I delivered it literally 20 minutes after the deadline got done.
  6. Hmm. That’s quite messed up. If they aren’t delivering the completed product within the stipulated deadline and if they’re trying to use the ‘revision’ tool to get themselves extra days, I’m pretty sure that’s against Fiverr’s TOS. Also, what’s strange to me is that they themselves are asking you to send it into revision. Fishy indeed.

  8. Child’s Play scarred me to no end. I effectively went off horror movies (and many soft toys with realistic eyes) for a looooong time. I got tricked into seeing Oculus and Conjuring a few years ago when they came out. I’m happy to report that I am still one hundred percent, very much scared of horror movies. 👻

  15. These ‘lol, give me a better offer’ buyers are almost always bad news. First off, it isn’t professional communication by any means, secondly, they’re not respecting your time or your price point, and thirdly, this is just a precursor to the sh*tstorm that will be coming your way i.e., this kind of buyers will expect you to do 2x the amount of work at a lesser cost (while repeatedly telling you that someone else out there agreed to their price). When someone says ‘lol’ or tells me that they have a better option in hand, I literally end the conversation right then and there, saying something along the lines of “I’m sorry, but I won’t be able to collaborate with you on this project. Please approach another seller for the same. Good day.” Good buyers understand and respect a seller’s time, efforts and pricing structure. If they really want to work out a deal with you, the manner in which they approach it will be very different as well as respectful. In addition, they’ll understand if it isn’t feasible from a seller’s perspective. It’s good that you didn’t give in to this buyer. However, for your peace of mind, just stick to a templated, polite response so that you don’t give the buyer any ammunition to use against you.

  17. Hmm, this is quite plausible. Again, this is just me, but if I were a buyer, I would automatically tip if I felt that the work met the standards I was expecting or the seller went above & beyond to deliver it. I think some buyers might get put off if they see the seller directly asking for a tip or implying that they are expecting a tip. :thinking:

So I order from this wonderful noodle place near my house quite often, and every time I tell them to pls NOT put coriander leaves in the wok instructions (long story short, I despise them, traumatic experience as a kid xP), they end up putting it. .____. So now, I just don’t say anything. They stopped adding it on their own. :rofl: Mammals are definitely quite strange. Some reverse psychology shizzles.

  23. That’s pretty damn rude. Also, I don’t know if it’s just me, but it seems like quite the entitled reply. As in, a clear attempt to establish a hierarchy of sorts. Plus, it’s quite ****-ish (the starred alphabets are up to the reader’s interpretation haha) to order you around with zero information and a dismissive manner. I’m very glad to hear CS is backing you up on this and investigating this buyer as well. @gwyneth_galvin PS: I didn’t get clarity on this part - will CS also ensure that this doesn’t affect your stats?
  24. To be honest, I have a one follow up rule (in case buyers have forgotten/missed out on my message if they’re busy, etc because it is human to err). If a potential buyer has not contacted me in 3-5 days, I send a quick, polite message checking in (and ask if he/she requires any additional details). If they don’t respond to the same, I take that as my answer and keep moving on. If they revert and place an order later, all well and good. At the end of the day, it is the buyer’s choice as to whether they want to work on this project with you or not. If they really want to collaborate with you, they’ll make it happen. Some have the courtesy to inform you if they change their mind, and some don’t. And that’s fine. Either which way, you will find buyers who meet you halfway, so hold out for those ones.

It’s quite unfair to declare that the platform is “one of the worst you’ve seen” without really trying your hand at it or experimenting, don’t you feel? @connectwithavis Fiverr, like any other platform out there, doesn’t come easy - it requires dedication, effort and patience. It also requires a fair amount of research, and a thorough understanding of the target audience you’re selling to. You have to be willing to put in that time to see results. It doesn’t happen overnight. This is solid advice. Also, you can spend more time on the forum and go through people’s experiences/tips/advice - maybe some posts might give you perspective on how to reinvent your gigs!
