  1. Sometimes I am really not in the mood for people asking for $5 off over and over on a small order.

  2. Hello, Eoin,
I am not sure what happened. But I sent you a message wherein I said I see you visited my profile. I guessed you were checking to see if I had visited the forum lately. I do not come here as often as I once did.

In my earlier post, I mentioned the m-word that means shepherd of the forum. Perhaps that is why my message disappeared. I was saying I missed the forum days when people like Writer, Gigfreak, Woofy, and Maddie were active.

Hopefully, no one will delete this message.

Maybe we should change how we charge for our work?

I'm always hesitant to change something simply because a couple of annoying people are annoying. Price by word works well for the vast majority so I'm happy to kick the others to the curb or perhaps sarcastically do a surcharge for identifying/avoiding repeated words (which coincidentally would be the same as proofreading them).

I love those buyers that think like that. I tell them to remove anything they don't want proofread repeatedly but that my fee would always be for the word count as it is in the file.

As for our new friend, who knows what that's about. We must be so incredibly interesting

Disgraceful! If you can't trust a Euroshop then who can you trust!

Group action sounds fun! I see Etsy sellers have done what so many Fiverr sellers called for and organized shutting their shops for a week to protest about fees going from 5% to 6.5%...

It has been great to be honest - love the new place, getting on well with the flatmates and have been working towards doing a big outreach-type thing to get some local clients as I'm in a great location with loads of local businesses. Of course, the usual happened when one makes plans; Fiverr buyers come along with loads of too-good-to-turn-down work... I raised prices by a chunk approx 6 weeks ago and seem to have progressed to a new level of buyers who like to pay more, like to pay for extra fast services and like to leave nice reviews - freelancing is hard sometimes...

In other news, got kicked hard at football last night so my calf is in agony today meaning I can't start my new gym routine that I signed up for last week and my flatmate got a Nintendo Switch meaning we spend a lot of time playing Mario Kart 8.

Also, I want to get 2 ferrets. Can't have a dog in this apartment and a cat wouldn't work due to the balcony so ferrets are a compromise. I need some of the below in my life.

Haha, I guess it's like saying Macbeth (another M word!).

I checked up on you as I was going to send a message here but figured I would inbox you instead to thank you for Tania.

I do miss the forum - so much time we spent here talking about nothing and everything. I keep meaning to come and write a post and try get some chat with people like you and the other former regulars to try catch up.

  8. Just dropping by to say, "hi, I miss seeing you on the FF. Are you all settled in? Are you enjoying being in the city?"

Aww, thanks Vickie. Busy busy busy unfortunately, or fortunately 🙂

Loving life in Dublin and enjoying the change a lot. Also took on a new Marketing Agency client here which is taking around half of my work time, hence my lack of forum activity. Expecting my new housemates to move in next week and one of those is going to be an assistant of sorts, so hopefully can offload some to him and free myself up a bit to do some more posting here and elsewhere.

      Have I missed anything?

  9. Finally moving house tomorrow.

I had my busiest month ever last month and am still trying to finish off a few orders. Had to just pause all gigs to allow me to get some free time to move. It has been a week of 12-14 hour days and early starts. Gonna take a few days now to move and settle in I think before getting back to work.

I lived in various areas in Dublin for approx 15 years then moved to one quite quaint small town/village when I started freelancing. I moved to a slightly bigger one (Kilkenny) during Covid and the opportunity to house share with two friends in this area came up so I jumped at it. They will be moving in next month.

It's a far more vibrant area within walking distance of everything really so yeah, really pleased.

I have moved from a smaller country town to Dublin city centre which has been my goal since I started freelancing 6 years ago, so a pretty big deal 🙂
I am living beside Dublin's Docklands, quite close to Google's Irish/European HQ (the aptly named, Google Docks). Below isn't my view unfortunately but I am living in the area.

  11. Testing a potential great use for this feature - One problem I had with the old forum was that you would often get responses from people who's opinion you may not value who then derail the thread from being a useful discussion and back to "halp me" type discussions.

If this type of quick post is only seen by followers of mine (mostly people I follow and who I respect), then is it possible to have a near-private discussion here with like-minded and experienced/capable sellers? Let's give it a go and discuss something here and see if it gets invaded by the masses.

When moving house, what is your biggest peeve or greatest joy?

Thanks all. I've moved quite a few times before and most of the time it's been positive. Moving from a house in a country town to an apartment in the very centre of Dublin (our capital city), so it's going to be quite a change.

I'm also going to be sharing with 2 students I know so quite an adjustment but looking forward to city life again - lockdown has only really begun to be eased here, so as you can imagine, everyone is dying to get out and enjoy the summer.
