  1. Ironically, it’s more than 14 days for the following reasons. Your client orders something, you deliver in 3 days.Your client forgets to review it so you have to wait 3 days for the ordered to get marked completeYou have to wait 14 days for the money to clear.So it could be 20 days until you see the money, this assumes there are no demands for revisions or extensions. Personally, I like how Lyft does it better. As soon as you make more than $5, you can withdraw it. I don’t withdraw it because I like to withdraw significant amounts, not 12 freaking dollars after driving for 50 minutes.
  2. Hmmm… I guess I see it different. It’s their platform, their rules. I have plenty of other options if I don’t like it. It’s doesn’t bother me if some people decide to go find another platform to work, that’s up to them. If it’s not working for someone, they are free to explore other venues. Build your own site, find other ways to market, there are plenty of options and Fiverr may be perfect for some, or a poor fit. It’s still just one option. You do, I don’t. And spend a fortune marketing it? No thanks. Websites like Fiverr are extremely complex to create, develop, promote, and maintain. I do not have the time, money, or desire to create what would end up as a vanity website that makes me no money. I deliver on time all the time. What I meant was delivering ahead of schedule. When you get paid in 7 days, you want to deliver everything ASAP. When it’s 14 days, it doesn’t matter, you can take more time as long as you’re not late.

I honestly don’t know - although the status or not of my Pro badge will not impact me striving to meet Fiverr standards - I also imagine that a Fiverr Customer Success team member would reach out to us if we were not performing as expected. I am glad you like us so much - it sounds like you think more of Pros than we think of ourselves 😉 Look at your analytics page and see if they mention anything about losing levels. Thanks.
  4. I believe I am under exactly the same requirements as everyone else, as the Pro badge is independent of seller level. What I mean is this, will PRO sellers lose their pro status? Will they be demoted to TRS? I doubt it. I think King Pros will be left alone. Fiverr loves the pros, they’re the special people, the patricians of Fiverr. The rest of us are a bunch of plebes.
  5. really? Like you legit don’t feel like delivering on-time because of that? Why are you on this site then? it’s been like that from day 1, it’s right there on the ToS. Fiverr is not punishing level 1+2 and new sellers. It is rewarding TRS. Everyone’s funds used to clear in 14 days. Then I think a year and some change back, they announced TRS level gets 7-day clearance. So you are looking at it the wrong way. It is a really strong incentive and once you reach that level, a great benefit to have. Fiverr’s defenders claim that the new level standards are making everyone equal. If TRS gets paid in 7 and we get paid in 14, where’s the equality? Is our money less valuable than theirs? Do we need it less than they do? No! If the system allows TRS’s to get paid in 7 days, the same courtesy should be given to us. It shouldn’t be a perk, TRS’s get enough perks. First of all, is it really “their platform”? We’re the ones that work here! We’re the ones that make money for them! Don’t act like they’re doing you a favor, they take 20%. And you’re wrong, I don’t have plenty of options. Name me one platform that is like Fiverr, it doesn’t exist. Don’t even mention the Fiverr clones, and don’t compare it to People Per Hour, I tried dealing with those finks and they screwed me over.
  6. In my mind the changes are a win. There were too many Level 2 and TRS badges for people who HAVE been around for years, but didn’t do as much lately. Now people will adjust or go do something else. The Sam’s Club near me just closed. My family was a regular shopper there, and now we’ll shop someplace else. Life is that way… things change and we adjust. I think the new system is a huge win over time for those of us who continue to push and improve our business. There are now minimum standards for keeping level 2 and TRS, and that makes those levels far more valuable for buyers too. In many places, if you were a great worker 3 years ago, but you decided now you get to take 3 hour lunches now, they get rid of you. Your history is important, so maybe you get a warning, but after a certain point they are getting rid of you. As long as they announce the changes in advance, give us some time to adjust, I think this is a great thing. Higher standards will make a stronger marketplace over time. I’m not a TRS (yet) but I am happy they are setting the standards higher for those who both want to be (me) and those who had it in the past but stopped working for it. The only thing guaranteed is change. Fiverr is going to change, life will change, any other job/site will change too. (Glad we don’t work at Sears… formerly the world’s largest retailer…) The two week hold on payments is life. Their system, their rules… Yeah, and then we get fracked. I went to People Per Hour, submitted one hourly, the ones people search for, the finks disapproved it. They set the standards impossibly high! Hey, I have an idea, instead of 4.8, why not 5.0? Instead of 90% completion rate, why not 100%? Come on, people! Let’s raise the standards! 20% commission? Let’s give Fiverr 50%! Better yet, let’s give them 100%. Let’s all work for Fiverr, they need the money, we don’t. Or maybe Fiverr should charge a membership. Want to be TRS? $100 a month. Not enough? $500 then.
  7. I was just about saying the same! When you were TRS, you saw it as a privilege, as a perk associated with being TRS. You didn’t care about sellers in the lower levels because you saw this benefit as a reward for your hard work. Now that the tables have turned, suddenly, everyone is entitled to what was exclusively meant for TRS so you can still have access to that benefit. Life doesn’t work that way, and I’m sure businesses don’t too! That is a lie, I have provided gig counseling to hundreds of sellers. I have rewritten gig titles for other people, answered threads with no participants, made all kinds of suggestions, even entertained those who messaged me even though I hate being messaged outside the forum. So don’t pretend I didn’t give a crap about other sellers. I’m here, aren’t I? If I didn’t care for other sellers, why would I spend my time here?
  8. I agree with you on that - the 4.8 rating does seem high considering getting 14/15 stars on every single order would mean a 4.7. My suggestion/ideal would be that TRS would be manually demoted as well as promoted, that there would be some consideration given for circumstances. I also think a two-strike system might be fairer, as in if you miss two requirements then it is demotion. Glad we can agree on something. By the way, are the PRO sellers under the same standards? Or are they too special to get demoted?
  9. You have my sympathy (like that is worth anything, but still), but it is a one week delay on your money compared to what it was. No, it’s a great idea. I don’t know how long you’ve been on Fiverr, I’ve been here since 2013. In the good old days, people got demoted for JUSTIFIED REASONS, such as “Order cancelled. Seller failed to deliver on time.” Too many of those justify a demotion. 4.7 does not.
  10. What would loyalty to you look like? Immunity from demotion? Artificially boosted rankings? A free car every year? How about letting you keep your level after you earned it? “If I earn $100/week then it makes no difference after the first 2 weeks.” It makes a huge difference when Fiverr is your only source of income and you want to keep your credit card balances low.
  11. And that is what works for his business, and where he works. Fiverr has different payment standards. Some sellers may not like it… but those are still the Fiverr standards. Patience is a virtue. We all want to get paid sooner than later, but that isn’t always how things work out. So, we work with what we have. And most of Fiverr’s freelancers gain their cleared earnings after 14 days. I’ll pretend you didn’t say that. My wife, a teacher, gets paid every two weeks (i.e., every 14-15 days). She and I managed out household expenses on that payment calendar. I don’t mean to sound rude, but yesterday, you were a TRS, enjoying that 7-day funds clearance. Today you are a Level 2 seller who will have to get used to the standard 14-day payment clearance. You’re complaining as if this is an us and them thing – respectfully, it comes across as being extremely entitled. I’m sorry that you lost the 7-day cycle. The 14-day cycle isn’t as bad as you make it out to be. Thousands of Fiverr sellers have been doing just find on the 14-day clearance cycle for years. It works – and has worked – just fine for us. It’ll work for you as well, so long as you make a few adjustments to accommodate it as long as you are among the realm of below-TRS sellers. Then, when you earn TRS again, you can have the joy of returning to the 7-day cycle. It’ll be okay. I say this from experience. 😉 I’ve worked in the real world, we usually get paid biweekly, every other week. Maybe it’s different for teachers? Doesn’t matter, even if my motives are selfish, everyone would benefit from a 7-day delivery. Just because you’re used to something doesn’t make it right. There are amazing sellers who haven’t earned TRS, even when they sell more than me! So why will I have a chance to earn it back? Fiverr doesn’t care, they have ZERO loyalty towards long time sellers like me.
  12. I’ve never been a TRS, so I’ve always had access to my cleared funds in 14 days. I’m used to it, and have never had any problems. I know it’s a perk at the TRS level, but I don’t feel that I need it in order to operate as a successful Fiverr freelancer. I’m sorry that your demotion takes you from that 7-day clearance to the 14-day clearance that most of the rest of us have been used to. It’s not a challenge if you challenge yourself to make it work. Just because we’re used to something doesn’t make it right. My brother-in-law is a contractor, he gets paid in 3 to 7 days. Check cashing stores exists because some contractors can’t afford to wait for a check to clear, and would rather get paid immediately. Lyft lets you withdraw your funds anytime you like as long as you pay $0.50. Besides, who benefits from a 14 day waiting period? Not buyers, they can do a PayPal chargeback anytime they want. Top Rated Sellers already get the perks of their own personal section, the pretty golden thing, and the credibility of having been chosen. That’s enough perks as far as I’m concerned, the rest of us deserve to get paid in 7 days just like they do.
  13. It is completely wrong that Top Rated Sellers get paid in 7 days and the rest of us have to wait 14 days. It is financial discrimination, it discourages people from delivering their work on time since they know their payments will be delayed by 14 days. I can understand each level has unique privileges, but delaying our payments hurts everyone’s finances. Everyone should get paid in 7 days. Orders are marked as complete in 3 days, so why delay us by 11 days?
  14. 30 days is too long. I deliver in 3 days, orders get marked as complete after 3 days or as soon as the buyer reviews the order. I think 24 hours should be the waiting period for reviews, modification changes, etc. Buyers need to be put under pressure. Just like the ads scream “24-Hour Sale” and “save 50% between 6am and 8am,” buyers need to understand that time is money, and we have other things to do.
  15. Is that true outside of America? I read that Black Friday hasn’t been successful in Europe. How much shopping are people doing? Besides, a lot of people go on vacation in August and yet August was my best month this year. It’s interesting that even countries without Thanksgiving or Christmas celebrate Black Friday. Here in America, you’re usually free on Thursday and if you’re lucky, free on Friday as well. You need to be free on Friday if you’re gonna stand in line outside the stores. Me? I’m too impatient for that.

  17. I can’t get any job I want. The job market has changed a lot. Companies are so horrible, they say there’s a skills gap, that candidates don’t have the skills they need. They lie. I’ve seen jobs where they demand a copywriter who’s also a wordpress developer and a graphic designer. How is that logical? Before, all you had to be was a copywriter. Then copywriter and proofreader. Then copywriter, proofreader, and art director. Now 3 to 4 skills? Sometimes I wish I had done the art director track at Miami Ad School. My point is employers want to get 2-3 workers for the price of one. It would be like a hospital hiring a dermatologist who’s also a cardiologist and proctologist. As for the pessimism coming from our media, that’s a political topic. PM me if you want to discuss. Exactly. I’d rather make a high or medium salary at a cheap place than a high salary at an expensive place. Where in the UK do you live in? London? I’m told London is the most expensive city in England.

My account is precious, I can’t afford to lose it. I don’t have much else going for me, today I applied to be a Production Assistant at two places. It’s always been my fantasy to work in Television/Film, but the production side, the business side.
  19. Very, very rare for me. I have had only one CS complaint from a client related to a $5 order, and it was resolved amicably with the buyer even telling the CS that I was a great/honest/talented seller. I don’t remember the last time I gave a refund on a completed order or on work I had done, maybe 2 years back. I have given only 2 or 3 refunds on completed work in 4 years - I think $5 once, $10 once and $40 once. That’s it. Is that unusual? It helps that most of my buyers are repeat buyers. [Remember I said refund on “completed work or work done” - that’s different from cancellations/mutual cancellations.] For me, refunds were SOP. A client demands a revision, he gets a refund. A client is unhappy, he gets a refund. I’m too lazy to make a revision, client didn’t like my revision, you know the rest. Then Fiverr changed the rules and now I’m doing my utmost to avoid refunds. I fear the book I wrote about Fiverr is now outdated. I should probably revise it. By the way, 40% of my orders are unrated. Would it be a good idea to message those sellers? I think sometimes it’s better to let sleeping dogs lie. What if I ask for a review and I get a negative review?
  20. It has only happened to me once so far on Fiverr, out of over 3500 orders. So I have been lucky in that respect, generally never get a request for revision. Once a client didn’t like 1 article out of 10 and wanted another, I said no and showed them excerpts from the Fiverr TOS. Was very calm and respectful. That’s the last negative review I have received…a year back I think. Interesting, so you never make revisions? Have you ever had to refund a job because you refused to revise, or because the buyer complained to CS? I guess you’ve been lucky or maybe you’re better communicating with other people. Sometimes I get a revision request because the buyer didn’t realize it was a two page document. That’s so obvious, but I never humiliate my buyer for a tiny mistake like that.
  21. Google searches are the worst. Imagine you find a great brand name and then discover someone else is using it. The trademark might be available, the person using it might be a fan page or someone who’s not a direct competitor. That’s why I hate google and charge extra for google searches. It makes my work harder. Personally, I’m a bigger believer in domains and trademarks. I don’t do social searches because you can always add a letter or a word to find your Facebook company name, etc. They also take a lot of time. Higher prices are a double edge sword, sometimes you find clients that appreciate the work more because they paid more, other times you have clients that expect a lot more. My goal is making money, that can only happen if I get orders. That’s why most of my gigs start at $10. I enjoy doing multiples of $10, so it’s $10, $20, $30, then nickel and dime them a bit more with gig extras and charge quite a bit for one day delivery. That’s how you turn a $30 into a $70. You have a gig where you write 10 articles for $50. You wouldn’t be angry if your client hates all of them and demands a revision without telling you why? I’d be furious if I was in your shoes. Of course, I wouldn’t insult the client or do anything that can result in an account warning, but I can’t be detached about that. To me there’s nothing more horrible than working for free. I once volunteered at a soup kitchen and while I felt good for helping others, I never did it again. Feeling good wasn’t enough payment, I need money. I’d rather help others by giving them money, I can make more money in the future but the time spent is gone forever.

  23. I’ll give you an example of how I talk: Buyer writes: “Please send me new ones, this is to easy. Or give my mny back. I’m not statisfied at all.” This is what I wrote in my cancellation message: “It wasn’t easy, I spent a lot of time doing trademark searches, Google searches, etc. I don’t think you appreciate my efforts, so revising will be a waste of time . Next time don’t make a $70 order. It’s a huge hassle. Go order from somebody that offers satisfaction guaranteed, I don’t.” Here’s another example from a buyer that argued a lot after I delivered. “The seller has no intention of revising the order.” (his cancellation reason) My response: “Very well, you go ahead and write your own Facebook ad. Next time, don’t hire people if you’re not going to compensate them for their work. I am not a charity, and I don’t like working for nothing.” I guess I’m an angry seller when things go south.
  24. I had a similar experience, I was getting angry with a client, getting personal, but then I stopped and simply asked him for examples of what he wanted. Then I made a revision and got 5 stars.

However, sometimes I will get a bad review from a client that didn’t request a revision.
