  6. Hey guys, this is quite a bait thread title now, I know. But it’s true though! I’ve been active on Fiverr since 2017, full-time since 2019-2020. Top Rated Seller for over a year if I remember correctly. I don’t want to brag about these $100,000 in income, but rather motivate you. Because when I started, I was still a student, had no idea about online business or Fiverr and had to take away deposit bottles at the end of the month because I didn’t have enough money to buy them. An investment of $80 (the software I work with) and Fiverr have now resulted almost three years later in me working full-time from home, not having an annoying boss and yes, I do enjoy that freedom! I’m active on the forum a lot, I’ve had some great conversations here, got super tips, met interesting sellers and would like to give something back today (even if it’s just a little something). So here are a few tips that will hopefully help you as a newbie, but maybe also as a veteran. 1. Know your value! I see so many freelancers selling themselves short! Stand by your skills and your prices. Of course, your rates should be realistic compared to your work time, but never let a buyer tell you what your time, talent and work is worth! The client’s budget has to adapt to your prices and not vice versa. You don’t go to the apple store and ask for a 70% discount on an iPhone because your budget doesn’t allow for more, do you? 2. Stand out from the crowd! I notice this especially when I search for a service as a buyer on Fiverr. In some sections the portfolios, prices and gig descriptions are similar as if they were clones. As a customer, you tend to buy on the off chance then. If you notice that your competition is big, then think about a unique selling proposition and marketing. Make a particularly appealing gig video, a humorous description or fancy samples! Think about your favorite products - they have competition too! So why did you choose your favorite product? Work on your online presence! 3. Prepare yourself for madness. This came to mind when a friend of mine also started his own business online and gave up shortly after because he couldn’t handle the attitude of some buyers. There are great customers! I love working with my regular customers, they are awesome! But a couple of times a week I get requests from people who brazenly want to negotiate your prices, insult you, threaten you (with a bad review for example), want to scam you, badmouth your work, don’t say hello or goodbye, don’t reply, waste your time or cancel your project. Grow a thick skin and be prepared. Don’t take it personally and focus on building long-term relationships with great clients. 4. Experiment with pricing. You don’t have to offer the same prices for years. Don’t be afraid to adjust your prices to your work time, education and professionalism. I too have shied away from this for a long time, thinking that the algorithm or the customers will then say goodbye. Exactly the opposite was the case and I then had the strongest selling months! 5. Turn down an order if you notice red flags or if you can’t provide what the buyer is looking for. Otherwise this only makes for unhappy customers, cancelled orders and wasted time. There’s no shame in turning down a project if you realize the scope is too large or the client wants something that’s outside your scope of work. I turn down projects several times a week. 6. Pay attention to your English. And I say that as a non-native English speaker! Fiverr is an international platform, which means English is a must. As a seller you need to be able to have a professional briefing to understand the project. If you don’t understand the client or you talk past each other, it will only lead to problems. If necessary, use free online translators or a language tools to correct mistakes. There is no shame in it, it rather shows that you are trying to do your best in communication. 7. Do not copy anyone and be unique! Every week other sellers are copying my description, even reproducing my work, stealing my portfolio to pass it off as theirs and matching their prices to mine. All in the hope that they will be successful. But who do you want to work with as a client? With the original or the copy? I just realize this is already a pretty long thread. I’d like to update it every now and then when I think of something new that I think is important. I’m also happy about your comments of course! Thanks so much for reading! I wish you all the best! Best regards Rag

  9. This might be a reason for the decline in your GiG Impressions and Views. But here are a few more possible practical reasons for this - When your gigs were new, they were shown in the “Newest Arrivals” sections, so that could be a reason for the increased impressions and views at first.Fiverr rotates the GiGs on intervals so, your GiG could have lost it’s ranking position and could have been moved down the list.Don’t conclude the Weekly stats much, they goes up and down quite frequently. Concentrate on the Monthly statsForget the impressions, pay attention to the clicks! You want as many clicks as your can get. Clicks could mean success! If your gig isn’t getting clicks, then you can start to worry. Low clicks means that you need to improve your gig and make it more attractive. Capture the attention of buyers, and they are likely to take an interest in your gig. Once you capture their attention, then the Orders stat comes into play. Above all, you want orders. But you need to have an attractive gig – written in proper English. If you don’t have a professional, attractive, valuable gig, written in spectacular English, then you’re probably not going to get any orders. Show buyers that you care. Treat your gigs like a business. If your gigs don’t look professional, if buyers can’t even read what you write, then don’t expect any orders. If you don’t care to be the best at what you do, buyers aren’t going to care about buying from you. Be professional. Look like you care. It’s as simple as that.

  12. I’m excited to be here, I’m selling my voice and this is a very new idea to me. I say new, but I have been doing this for a couple of months now. New is a relative term, but I just found the Fiverr community forums so I figured I could introduce myself! Hello all, I look forward to interacting with everyone! I can’t wait to see how this goes!

  13. Yes, it would. It’s strictly forbidden to communicate with your Fiverr clients outside of Fiverr, let alone direct them to buy from you somewhere else. Fiverr has the option of custom offers, so you can provide that other service through Fiverr. I suggest you read Fiverr’s Terms of Service thoroughly.

  17. Hi I tried 4 spell casters on fiverr but i did not get any spell results ever. i do not know what is your experience with spell casters here. i talked to many spell casters. but create order with 4 people on different times. but none of them give me any 1% results which they were committed for. normaly they will tell you that your work will done in 17 to 21 days but nothing will happened. but they will take your money and take your review 1st by saying this that hope for the best and these kind of lame excuses that be positve and bla bla . buyers who already got scammed with these kinds of spellcasters can understand what i am saying, because they will get your order revenue on 15th day after the order will be marked as complete. so you can not take any refund as well, if you did not get spell results. i want to know your experience.

  19. I’m going to Carpathian Mountains next month since there is nowhere else to go (thanks, covid). I’m considering visiting a baba (like a mystical crone/white witch person) to find out what my grandma’s dying words to me were. Because she wanted to tell me something but I couldn’t hear it clearly and then she was gone. It might be very interesting because the lazy answer would be “she told you she loved you”. Which is where I’d jump on the table and go: “Wrong, you scammer! Give me back my $1.25 (in local currency), you fraud!” My grandma, bless her, was a stern high school principal, such words would never leave her mouth. Now, if they say: “she told you to try harder”, I’d probably tip the baba and sleep with my lights on for a night or two. I’m having a similar problem and the vet told me the issue was psychological. I started to work from home and the cat became too emotionally reliant on me. Because I’m around all day and he can just demand things whenever he feels like it. They prescribed some mild sedatives. I didn’t know cats were so emotionally complicated. The noise was what stopped me from getting a dog.

  21. The forum is full of new sellers desperately wanting success. Someone has told them that you just create a gig and everybody rushes to buy it … Easy money! Of course that is not the case! Selling on Fiverr is just like opening a business. Imagine you are opening a shop in a town. You would see what the competition is doing. Are they offering the same thing as you. Can you offer something different or better. Or maybe a niche that nobody else has thought of. That is called research and you must do this before doing anything. Only offer something for which you have the ability to provide a professional service. Make sure everything in your profile is accurate. Buyers are not stupid and they will see through deception and move on to buy from someone else. Your Fiverr account and your forum account are separate. Posting on the forum will not get you sales. Use the forum to read and learn from experienced forum members and sellers. Everything you need to be successful is on the forum or the Fiverr website. Beware of what you are finding elsewhere! Read, learn, take action! Good luck! 🙂

  26. Fiverr is currently the only freelance platform I use. However, Fiverr only provides me with about 30% of my monthly income (I am a full-time freelance web content/blog writer). I get other business from my website. I also work as a staff writer (under contract) at two US web content providers (both found me online). What I am getting at is that (with some exceptions) it is very difficult to build a full-time freelance career by using just one source. Plus, when you have multiple streams of income, if one slows down, it won’t hurt so much. I should point out that I have been freelancing since 2014, full-time since 2016. I hope this helps.

  33. I worked with a seller to develop software for me after 3 months I got Zero from the seller although I paid the seller based on time milestones while no result. Since I was invested and didn’t want to lose my money I agree to pay. After 3 months I have no code or software, when I contacted Fiverr support they abdicate their duty to investigate the incident. Although it can be seen in the system that no product or code was provided they still claim that this is my problem that I did not receive any product and approved. To silence me they are willing to give me credit in the account. Has anyone else encountered such a phenomenon that a product was not provided and still paid for? Very bad service, I’m sure I will not use Fiverr in future.

  34. Only your time really, and sure, someone else might have lost you as an potential customer, but that is a bit of a long shot. And in case you have had an exciting new idea for an app, I am sure you would have had the seller sign a Non Disclosure Agreement to protect yourself, otherwise you just gave him a great new idea… - EDIT: not needed But since he has not delivered I would not be to concerned that he actually knows what he is doing 🙂 There’s actually a confidentiality clause within Fiverr’s Terms of Service, so having a seller sign an NDA is not required if the seller doesn’t want to violate Fiverr’s own conditions and risk account warnings and termination. image2319×420 94.4 KB

  35. Bad decision. As per Fiverr’s Terms of Service, refunds are not automatically sent to your payment provider, they’re given to you as credit to spend on other sellers. If you wish for the money to be sent back to your payment provider, you need to ask Customer Support to do it. Fiverr can’t force the seller to do the work, all they can do is cancel the order and refund you, which is what they did.

  45. Yes you’re right. Fiverr can go kaput at any point so you should always work on diversifying your income too. You should never rely on fiverr alone when you don’t have a back-up. I’ve had weeks where my gig has glitched out of search and if I hadn’t have had my safety net money saved up I’d have been screwed. I’m working on a few projects for back-up cash currently. I’m just so busy with fiverr it’s hard to find the time so it’s like a catch 22.

  47. I know what “baba” means, I’m Ukrainian. 🙂 Being a grandmotherly crone figure can be a part of the branding. It can be a potentially interesting experience for $1.25. I don’t treat it seriously and don’t plan to get thousands of dollars in but I appreciate you looking out for me.

  49. By the way, @bablu878396 I don’t think it’s a good idea to share gigs on social media. The chances of orders from sharing on social media is very low. Rather than I would suggest you to work on your gig, seo, title etc. And think about your conversation skill, it’s also important!
