Im quite new as seller on fiverr trying to get sales

Hey there, i quite new as seller on fiverr trying to get first sales and i already make 4 gigs but no sales yet. What i saw is only views, impression and all other view stuff and no orders yet…already sent offers to buyers request but no reply back. I need you guys expert or pro’s advise and guide and i really need fiverr job… Thx

If you haven’t already read Strengths Finder 2.0 and taken that assessment, I suggest you do so, because it should give you the language to express your strengths and help you to brainstorm some gigs for which you are especially well qualified. Check out the writing of Chris Guillebeau and Tim Ferriss. By Josh Kaufman, I recommend The First 20 Hours: How to Learn Anything… Fast! and The Personal MBA. Also, you could read Influence by Robert Cialdini and Get Anyone to Do Anything by David J. Lieberman.

You always mention this and I have to say that I don’t think this always works in all cases. There are other threads where this is being discussed as having a negative result & I think that if you’re going to recommend people do a video you need to put it in context.

If you’re not a good presenter, or if a video is pointless for your gig and adds no value, you may get less orders.

I’m a white, native-English speaker who has spoken at international conferences in front of hundreds, so I think that, apart from not being male, I’m in the optimum demographic to make a successful video, but I don’t think a video would be successful on my gigs.

I’m not suggesting you remove it as this is obviously something that you believe works, but I do think you need to add to your suggestions that these are your opinions and they may not work in all cases.

I don’t say “IMMEDIATE POSITIVE RESULTS”.

In my humble opinion, there’s no point to adding too many caveats in the post that I repeat over and over, especially given that I point to so many other resources.

Ultimately, each Seller is responsible for her own results, and if she sees that a video of herself talking to the camera doesn’t work, she should adjust.

I’m also not going to change it to something like:

Unless you’re a fat, ugly slob like ME, make a video of yourself talking to the camera, because this approach garners IMMEDIATE RESULTS.

People who don’t feel comfortable appearing on camera don’t need me to tell them that they don’t feel comfortable on camera.

I also go into more details in the Improve My Gig Checklist thread (which has been shut down, so I can’t easily edit it further):

Video: 30 to 60 seconds. If nothing else, put together a slide show of your portfolio images. If you can provide video of yourself talking directly to the buyer, this may help.

Every gig should have a video! People expect it today, and are more likely to watch a video than read your copy. Learn to make great videos that get your point across in an engaging way. I’ve seen reports that suggest that in 10 years, video will be the dominant form of communication on social media.

4. Iterate and improve your gigs often. Once you’ve made a video for each of your gigs, take a long, hard look at each video. How can you improve them? Could you add better music? Write a better script? Rehearse your script until you have it down like Tim Roth and his restroom story in “Reservoir Dogs”? How’s the background?

Once you’ve gone through and redone the videos and reposted them, take another hard look. Brainstorm ideas to make the video even better.

I use animated videos that I make myself, only because I have the looks for radio, but not the voice. You can see my picture, so you understand why I don’t videotape myself. If you’ve heard me croak out, “Exclusively on Fiverr,” then you understand why I keep my talking to a minimum. If I looked and sounded more like Benedict Cumberbatch, my sales on Fiverr would be much better.

My uninformed opinion is that the optimal video is one in which you greet the customer, make small talk, then show them what you do via a screencast or whatever best gets your point across.
