Has anyone ever posted ads for a VA?

I had a buyer in india that wanted me to create a gmail account with my info under assumuned name, not his info, and use that as a contact in the ads that I posted for him which was to be virtual assistant. He already had the documents for me to download and would never specify anything. Just assumed I was stupid. So i told him to cancel because I thought it is a scam. I would get all his responses to those ads, not him.

Any sellers get this before?
