@Capitalquality Where are you?

It has dawned on me today that I haven’t seen capitalquality about on the forum since before the latest NZ earthquake. In this case, here’s just a quick shoutout to say I (and I am sure others here) hope that you are okay and haven’t been thrown into too much of a mess by the whole affair.

Having lived in NZ, I have no doubt that you will be fine thanks to the incredible positivity and can-do attitude of you Kiwi’s. I just hope that you weren’t hit too hard by it all and that you will be back soon!

I hadn´t really in my mind that she´s from NZ, but funnily enough I just was wondering where she´s been lately today too and clicked on her profile, and she has vacation mode on, so hopefully it´s for vacation and not for earthquake repairs or whatever.

So…hope you´re all fine from me too!

Awe isn’t that so sweet of you guys. It’s like a little family here looking out for each other :).

I bet she is either busy with her new puppy or maybe she is taking a break for the holidays.

Whatever it is, I too hope she is doing well.

BTW @Cya how is the new puppy doing?

Helping me keep up with the washing up, naturally!

No, actually he’s in a bad way. I thought he had a neurological thing but he actually has a broken back which has healed weirdly and left him with the middle of his back permanently arched.

The vet says he’s in constant pain and I need this-this and this…

But I’m calling bull. He has a few fleas still and jumps when they bite him and is in some obvious digestive discomfort sometimes (because of how much I feed him). What he isn’t doing, though, is showing signs of pain around his back; he just literally can’t move his limbs where he wants them to go sometimes.

Anyway, my landlord won’t let me keep 2 dogs so I have a 68-year-old Canadian lady taking him in in about a week when she moves into her new home here. That’s the ideal solution as he doesn’t like walking far and will have a garden there.

However… I think I might end up keeping him even if it means moving again. Also, I’ve named him Aries. Small dogs with problems deserve strong names and he seems to like it.

Anyway, if the pic attaches, it’s of Aries cleaning my chopping board the other day. Disgusting for humans but I don’t care, with Aries & Chico I’m the odd species out at the moment.

Cy I am a lifelong lover of animals and dogs. It is heartbreaking to read of your poor dogs health problem.

Here is what I suggest and I hope you understand and take this as it is intended. The very kindest thing you can do is give him a painless peaceful deliverance. His suffering is immense and he can’t tell you about how bad it is. Animals should never be left to suffer even for one day. He is in intolerable pain and it would be an act of love and kindness to help him in this way.
It won’t get better, only worse and worse.
I base this on this: vet says he’s in constant pain
