Invoice for non UK VAT registered companies

Can someone advise me how I get an invoice? The auto generated on line version wont let me proceed unless I put in a UK VAT Number.

In the UK you only have to be VAT registered if your Sales exceed £83,000 and I am a new business, so theres no need to register at this time.

Make up a VAT number then edit it out when you have the invoice (just draw a white box over it). Yeah, it’s a hack.
