Type of Jobs I am getting is a little odd/concerning

In the past 5 days, I have received 3 orders which were to do with creating profiles on f’lance websites other than Fiverr. Up until these, I have never been asked to do this before. Coincidence? Odd? Rats leaving the ship?
I dunno, just an odd thing that happened…

PS: I love my clients. I am not calling you rats in a derogatory sense and actually had some pet rats up until recently. They really are wonderful creatures - just like you!

I’ve had a few of these. Personally, I’d be very careful with these kinds of buyers unless you have a history of working with them. I had a ‘copywriter’ ask me to write a sales copy like bio/profile page which he asked for revision after revision until I just said screw it and cancelled.

I don’t think it’s a case of rats jumping ship. I think it’s more a case of “ah ha!” I’ll create a profile at this other place even though I’m useless at everything but breathing, and outsource all my orders to some $5 desperado on Fiverr."

You might get to be a ‘victim’ of a combination of some popular blogger getting ideas into people´s heads or some blog about that gaining new popularity + people trying to flip work as cyarex said, after reading such blogs, at least that might account for the piling up of such inquiries.
And agree on the being careful, it can be ok, or not, I declined some of that kind also.

They were all about creating their profile blurb and paid my “serious” writing rate (as opposed to SEO article blahhhh rate (approx 3 times the price) and were easy to deal with. If they are outsourcing then I’d gladly take more from them.
I’ve noticed that some of my Quora answers on f’lancing/Fiverr have been picking up views of late so perhaps they came from there. None of these were sellers on Fiverr either so probably not the rats leaving the ship problem. Hmmm, would love to know where they came from, I think I’ll start asking how buyers came to find me. Would be nice to know.

For some reason that contest that was held some time ago for designing a city’s logo (a new one) came to mind. They made it seemed that the site had nothing more to offer than logo design but many pointed out the mistake that was made. They needed a whole identity package and not just a logo.

Hopefully this isn’t the case.

Yes, I´d been thinking about asking those who found me on their own, as to how they did too, that is, once after delivering satisfying work of course, so they hopefully wouldn´t mind a ‘If you got a moment…’, would be interesting to know in either case.
