Why it Might be time to Build a Wall

Sure they do, just look up the West Bank Barrier or the Gaza Barrier. It’s more of a fence with Egypt, though. The Egyptian one is still under construction and is more or less to keep refugees out. I’m not going to make any political commentary on this…

It is worth spending time sprucing up your profile and marketing if gigs are low though, it worked for me back in September/October. Made a post or two about it then which you probably read at the time, but it’s not necessarily useful as it’s all the stuff you know you should be doing to get noticed.

Good points, there is certainly room for improvement, but I have been focusing my best on providing a good service. Sometimes people have expressed their joy to “finally find quality work” so that did make me realize there are some not-so-great sellers out there. I’ve had good experiences both buying and selling, so I do appreciate Fiverr as a platform.

Just be very careful when approached by a potential buyer who complains about previous bad experiences. It takes more than two to tango, and starting off a new professional relationship with someone by moaning about some rando is a bit of a red flag.

Yes, they could, I´d be completely fine to do some online life translating test or whatever, and I´m pretty sure any translator who knows they deliver decent to great quality too, if it would get rid of people who don´t even know how to write a gig in the language they offer to ‘translate’ at all. And that´s not even to have more exposure and traction, but actually and honestly, already just because it just isn´t right to have lots of clear scammers all over this place, making buyers who happen to fall prey to them leaving fiverr. I´m sure that´s more than we learn of on the forum, many will just silently leave to never return. And that´s a real pity, for them, for us, for fiverr.

Fully agreeing on an Academy test, there is not even the lowest kind of ‘did-you-really-read-our-TOS-and-such’ multiple choice quiz here. I’ve had to jump over a LOT more hurdles to be allowed into some online roleplay thing than into this here actually. A LOT.

That’s great 🙂 I can imagine it’s nice to hear that.
I haven´t linked my fiverr gigs to anything yet or advertised them anywhere. I’ll keep that in mind for when I won´t have much to do or maybe for christmas holidays or such. Maybe I can hear that too some day then.

Good point, but I heard something like above from a buyer who had just been scammed by a ‘google-translator’, and had been rightly complaining, so, case-by-case basis I guess. But being careful rarely hurts and listening to the lines and reading between them is a good thing to do in either case.

I have at least half my clients now who say they tried other services similar to mine and were disappointed. They say they wish they had found my gigs first.

Some tell me they got absolutely nothing at all, not even a response, from some similar gigs to mine even from popular sellers on the top row of the listings. Some only got a two sentence delivery.

<<Some tell me they got absolutely nothing at all, not even a response,>>

Wow. I know a site where you can still buy stuff from people who don´t even log into that site anymore, thus of course nothing is ever updated and you can´t get any kind of reply or customer service, if you buy it, as the site owner doesn´t do much about it. But I guess that can´t be the case here, if their gigs get such exposure, they probably must have recent deliveries, and so must still be using fiverr. The system that determines which gigs are shown prominently must be pretty flawed.

This.

I always run a mile when a potential buyer’s first communication includes a complaint about another seller.
