What does conversion mean in Analytics?

can anyone tell me what is the conversion ?

After literally years of looking at that I finally discovered it means the percentage of views that become actual sales.

No of people that order your gig. e.g. If your conversion rate is 3%. It means out of every 100 views you will get 3 orders.
