When I click to view a message in MY inbox, this message pops up: “For privacy reasons, this user may not be contacted directly.” But ‘I’ was the one who was contacted! Defo a bug!

@untagged The user who messaged you may have been removed from Fiverr.



We had this happen when there was a round of spam and phishing messages going around asking for sellers to try and complete a GIG like one included in the link they provided. The link appeared to be to another fiverr profile, however it was actually a redirect to a fake fiverr home page asking you to login in again. It made it look like you were accidentally logged out and some people put in their login information and were hacked.



We were lucky enough to have heard about if before we received our message and promptly reported the link to customer service. The profile was shut down and if you tried to view the profile, it would show the response you mentioned in your post.

Yes, This happened with one of my client. I recommend to contact support.

This is used to protect you from malicious content. Weird though when you see it, I agree. Not a bug I don’t think, and probably not worth contacting support over.
