oh, it’s nonsense! You could cheer him up and remind him that it could be worse as in Finnish.

No language needs 16 cases! Finland, no!

I attempted to learn Finnish when I had a Finnish exchange student staying for a year. I had dabbled at the languages of the other students and had managed to learn at least some basics. Finnish stopped me in my tracks. Individuals words I got, but phrases were a big problem. My student took a class in Western horsemanship and had to learn the names of the gear and parts of the horse in English, so I learned them in Finnish. Other than that, I gave up entirely. Finland is a grammatically dangerous place.

I never had any Russian students so I don’t know much Russian, but I do like a good icy vodka! I raise my glass to the success of all nations on Fiverr.

Yes and no.

While there are plenty of buyers who only want to deal with sellers from their own country or who steer clear of countries where they feel a lot of sellers are “unskilled labor” from the “third world” that won’t be able to deliver on their needs, it boils down to how much your nationality is reflected in your communication.

If someone articulates themselves well in English and demonstrates having no reading comprehension issues, it doesn’t matter where they’re from or that English isn’t their native language. They’re able to communicate in English as if it were and that’s what counts. Emphasis on English.

Look at the users responding, “Not true! I’m from wherever and English isn’t my first language and I do well!” Look at the way they communicate. Of course it isn’t true for them.

None of them have a bio or gig description akin to Hello frieeds I am to offer for you meny very good servicings best perfects in to Photoshoppings !!! Please am giving chance 100%!. And none of them wrote that way when they replied to this post.

Most of the buyers concerned about nationality are really just concerned about the frustration of dealing with someone who can’t decipher what they want let alone deliver it due to a language barrier. When they search for sellers from a particular region, it’s because they think that will reduce the odds of encountering that barrier.

If you demonstrate in your gigs, in your profile, and in your forum posts that this barrier isn’t a concern, it won’t be a concern. But if you sound like someone who just heard English for the first time five minutes ago and write in gibberish, your nationality will become relevant because it’s likely why you don’t speak English in the first place.

All well said. From the replies so far, I think generally the answer is NO
