i don’t know if i am having a bad week or what i am a regular user on fiverr for small quick things but over the last few weeks everyone i have dealt with has been a crook. is there not a way to stop people who can’t do the work i have had a web designer promise to do a site for me disappear then i had another so called it expert clone a site for me all he had to do was clone and add it to my server he managed to delete all the 3 sites on my server and i was left with nothing and more expense to get his mess fixed last i have had another member say he will do a site for me and i payed and haven’t heard from him since the problem with fiverr is once they refund you you can’t leave feedback to say what they did so if they mess you up as long as they refund they get no bad feedback. if you look no-one has any negative feedback what they have is when they don’t finish in time and you cancel order there is a message that says seller didn’t do the work in time think there must be a lot of sellers on here messing up work for people but as long as they refund you they are in the clear is it just me or has this happened to you? fiverr really need get there act together and sort out how this site works because it seems to be getting worse maybe this community we should start a name and shame post so the good folk on here know who to avoid.funny i wanted to start this post crooks on fiverr and the site wouldn’t let me funny that

Sorry you had some bad experiences. It seems there are more complaints such as yours about web designing services which since they can command higher prices than the average sale on fiverr might attract more shady characters. This is a huge international marketplace so fiverr cannot police all the 3 million or more gigs here. In addition there would be major problems with letting everyone who gets a refund to leave feedback which we have discussed elsewhere.

We can’t have name and shame posts because it wouldn’t do any good to anyone.
And it would lead to, just like being able to leave feedback after getting a refund, to competitors of sellers posting fake reviews about them.

It’s not perfect but as long as you can get a refund you haven’t lost much except time, as long as you were prudent enough to have full backups of your sites.

Report them to Customer Support after getting your refund.
Fiverr punishes those who have justifiable complaints made against them. Posting on a forum does nothing, even if you do name and shame them, around 100 people will see the post and that is it. Reporting them puts the issue in front of people who actually can and will do something about it.

Definitely report them to Customer Support. They will investigate and take action. I’m sorry you’ve had a frustrating experience. As the person who wants to see good in everyone, I’m hoping the person who disappeared had a good reason for doing so. I’m a writer, and I know I’ve had to cancel jobs before because I had a medical emergency and simply wasn’t able to complete them. So hopefully that one was a fluke. As far as the person who messed up your site, that sounds like someone who promises a gig he can’t deliver. I always check reviews, reading most of the recent ones for a seller. If they only have one or two buyers who keep coming back, or if their reviews all just say, “outstanding,” without any further info, I look for someone else.
Keep at it. There are a lot of great Fiverr sellers out there who are not shysters.
