misscrystal
A group of people at the store today were randomly standing around discussing which country to move to if Donald becomes president. Many felt Canada was too close and wanted to be farther away.
writer99025
LOL…I trust Warren Buffett more than any random person…he said recently that America will be fine, whether it’s Trump or Hillary, it doesn’t matter.
misscrystal
It hasn’t been fine since G. W. Bush was president and we can see from that how ruinous a bad president can be. It’s fine for millionaires mostly.
zeus777
I’m working in an office in Tokyo, and 90% of my coworkers are Americans, and they all told me that if Trump became president they will stay in Japan until he’s gone… 😛
writer99025
LOL…somebody tell me…if so many people hate him why is he winning so big?
writer99025
Guess we will only know in November how people truly feel about Trump.
fonthaunt
All of us who have suffered greatly during the recession know that while the president is a figurehead, it does matter who they are, what kind of influence they have, and what they believe in.I lost friends who took their own lives over repercussions of things that took place politically during and after the Bush Jr administration. I will never agree with anyone who says that a politician and his or her advisory have no impact on their city, county, state or country. Of course, its really easy to theorize about what other people and other places go through. It’s different when you live it.
fonthaunt
I think @kjblynx is right about part of it - Trump is good at buying support and threatening to get it. Plenty of corporate roles have been obtained that way and since he comes from that realm, he knows it. Lots of people have horrible bosses but sometimes the thing that made them horrible also helped them climb up other people’s back to get to “boss” status.People also love to watch drama and Trump’s celebrity status and nutcase attitude will get him some support from people who just want to watch. That’s definitely not just an American thing, but Americans are very prone to it. The whole “can’t look away from the train wreck” thing. I bet he will get some votes just from young new voters who detest him but want to see what happens. Every good story has a villain! Will all that be enough to get him elected even though most people really don’t like him? I have no idea. One of my friends says it will just because the country tends to swing between parties every 8 years. Maybe he’ll bribe his way to it somehow. Maybe he’ll just have numbers until the reality hits home and then the real votes will go elsewhere.

fitrigwrites4u
I don´t know much about politics. Only read a little here and there. So I only came here to read the comments.
misscrystal
There are a lot of stupid people in this country who want Trump and have no idea about what he is like. He is loud and name calling, and is clueless about government and politics, and they can relate to that.
misscrystal
Sanders mentioned he is aware of people killing themselves due to government policies in one of his speeches. He was referring to elderly people who can’t live on the small amount they get from social security but I was impressed that he was actually aware of this, that poor policy is driving people to suicide. I’m sorry to hear of your loss of friends in this manner.
misscrystal
I was pleased to see the protesters in San Francisco outside of where Trump was scheduled to speak. There were representatives from many groups he has offended such as Mexicans. It’s a novelty to see a person running for the presidency who doesn’t know enough to not alienate women, immigrants and Latino voters. It just shows how ignorant of the whole process he is.

misscrystal
The founding fathers of our country who were well educated elitists, were extremely concerned that the masses of poor and uneducated people would not be smart enough to govern themselves, or elect leaders who were able to govern well. There was a great deal of debate on this subject as our country was founded. They were right to be worried.

uchuuko
I hear a lot that people will leave the USA is Trump becomes president. I wonder if those same people would stick to their word is Trump really gets elected.
emmaki
A fraction of people will leave if x becomes y, it happens in every election cycle everywhere. Besides, where is the great American diaspora going to move to that has a comparable quality of life (considering those migrating will be reasonably wealthy and with stable jobs)? lulz.I’ve decided I want Trump to win, because him and Hilary are both car crashes. Two awful choices, but at least Trump seems pretty insular compared to Hilary so maybe the march to WWIII will be slowed somewhat as the USFP implodes. Not that it will. It’s meaningless.Still, better than having the zodiac killer as president eh? Unlike… oh, never mind.
david_ff
Yes, Hillary Clinton will be such a better president than Trump!I loved the way she handled Benghazi. And giving Russia a reset button was brilliant! I mean seriously… can you think of anyone else that has been so honest and forthright with the American people? She even has all the emails on her server to prove it!Oh wait…
