voiceoverfun
I want to understand Vacation Mode in full before I decide to use it about 4 months down the road.Biggest question I have not seen answered is…“Say you have about 10 orders left in your queue, and you’re deciding to turn Vacation Mode ON to cut ‘the queue line’ for anyone else that decides to make an order so you can go ahead and finish up the 10 orders you have left before starting your vacation… If I turn vacation mode on, will it suspend those orders, or will I still be able to work??” (Considering that my gig is now suspended).I just don’t want Fiverr to see that I’m working and be like, "Well, he must be back and actively working… turns vacation mode back off automatically.I think this is a great system though… that clients are notified and that they GET notified when I come back, and then business continues as normal. simplysoccerpro
I used vacation mode a couple of months ago when I went up to the mountains with my family, and this is my experience. When you turn vacation mode on, it only prevents people from ordering with you from that point forward. This means any orders that are in your queue you will still need to do before you go. What I would do is turn on vacation mode a few days before leaving. This will leave you time to complete the orders you are currently doing while not allowing anyone else to order until you turn it off.It would be good if someone else confirmed this, but that’s the way I think it works. voiceoverfun
Awesome, that is how I suspected it worked, but I just wanted to confirm that first. Did you have any problems when you returned, or was it pretty easy and straight forward?
mgjohn78
I use vacation mode whenever my job queue get to long. 90% of the time orders start coming back in just a couple of days. The other 10% of the times it has taken a while to recover and get my gigs back scrollable pages in search results (by scrollable i mean about top 20 pages, scrolling further down usually causes the page loading to jam up). voiceoverfun
So going on Vacation kills your rank?? That kinda sucks. The seller shouldn’t be punished just because they left for a couple days. Did your order and sales drop after you came back from vacation? mgjohn78
Most of the time there are no issues and orders return pretty fast. There have a been a couple of times when its taken a couple of months for orders to return after vacation mode, the thing is there is no way to really tell if vacation mode was the reason as there are so many factors and unknowns involved.
