There are 2 types of techniques mostly used for faking anti plagiarism tools.

  1. Using a script which looks same as normal text.
  2. Using alternative phrases

Inside the quotes is part of the article which a seller on Fiverr sold as his original article.

“Dіgіtаl marketing though part оf mаіnѕtrеаm соnvеrѕаtіоnѕ tоdау іѕ still a tоріс whеrе many have a doubt. Thіѕ article аttеmрtѕ tо рrоvіdе іnfоrmаtіоn regarding dіgіtаl mаrkеtіng using ѕіmрlе nоn-tесhnісаl terms. Thе еmрhаѕіѕ hаѕ been on mаkіng thіѕ аrtісlе ѕuіtаblе fоr non-technical rеаdеrѕ.”

If you run any plagiarism detector tool on the above text, it will say the text is unique. But in reality it is plagiarized, its characters are changed. The characters ‘a’ ‘e’ ‘o’ ‘i’ ‘y’ ‘p’ ‘c’ and some more are not the normal (Latin script) we use. They are written in ‘Cyrillic Script’ which looks the same as Latin script.

Before accepting any article/text from seller, perform a check that it is written in Latin Script.

There are many ways for checking that. I will write 2 here.

Using MS Word

Step 1: Open the article in MS Word

Step 2: If article text seems normal and even, then continue to step 3. If the text is uneven like some of the characters are big and some are small in 1 word. Then the seller has sent you a plagiarized article.

Step 3: Select all the text in article (ctrl + A).

Step 4: Change font to any font which you can easily differentiate from default font of MS Word. I recommend 'Bernard MT Condensed’or ‘Blackoak STD’

If font of all the characters is changed and is looking even, then article is written in ‘Latin Script’. If font of some characters is change and some are in default font. Then those characters which are still in default font are not from ‘Latin Script’. Hence the article is a plagiarized one. No one have this much time to change Latin characters of his original article to other script just for fun?

Using Note Pad

Just right click the article and open as Note Pad,

If you see things like

“MO„0†ï&þaÒ»V]Ù²5Ù«®ñÜ-Sh„–tÆþ½³
Ê¢a.Mfš¾ÏÓI»Z¿ÕUô³‚¥qÂ"°ÊåÆ‚=loO.Y„$m.+gA°³ã£ÕT’Â!,MƒQH±(XIÔ\qŽª„Zbì°aG;_K

Then the article script is not normal. Chances are more that the article is plagiarized. How ever this can happen due to other reasons also (very few), so don’t rely solely on this check.

What about those articles which are plagiarized using alternative phrases?

You can detect such plagiarism by using an advanced anti plagiarism tool (free or low cost anti plagiarism tools do not detect this) or searching manually in search engines and other online libraries.
