nerd_herd
I’m a new Fiverr seller in the process of setting up a few gigs. Lately I’ve been struggling to find the perfect video dimensions for my gigs. I created a cover image to use as a video preview, but I’ve been unsuccessful getting it to display properly for both my thumbnail and on my gig page without it being cropped funny.I have tried 1280 x 720 and 550 x 308, but neither has allowed for my cover image to be displayed properly. It’s tough experimenting with video sizes because not only do I need to re-create the videos in my editor, but there’s a day lag time in between uploading and setting a preview to see how it looks.I’ve looked quite a bit, but I can’t believe there’s no mention of optimal gig video sizes posted anywhere by Fiverr. (as far as I know) I also opened a ticket a couple days ago, but I’m still waiting to hear back from support. If anyone knows what dimensions I should be using for gig videos to resolve this issue it would greatly be appreciated. nerd_herd
Face Palm! I don’t know why, but it just occurred to me that I should try rendering the video at 550x370 to use as a “frame”. The actual video content will have a smaller height to maintain 16:9 aspect ratio. In theory this should work, but I won’t know before tomorrow. Hopefully this helps others with this issue as well in the future.I’m pretty confident it should work, I’ll update this thread tomorrow if it resolved my issue. nerd_herd
Unfortunately this did not work. Even though my video is the exact same size as the gig gallery ( 550 x 370 ) it still magnifies my preview image and crops it rather than leaving it at 100%.
