So what happens to sellers that copies your gigs?

I did a search on it and I see that several of you have had this problem. I contacted Customer Support a few days ago, but I know they’re backed up.

So, this person, copied my gig title (so their link is THE SAME AS MINE, minus the last few words), copied and pasted my gig description (did not change a single thing, except deleted the first sentence. I have hearts all over my gig description and she copied that too!) and has actually made sales. I am furious. I don’t care about my competition making money at all- I actually buy from them sometimes when I feel too tired to read my own cards- but blatently copy and pasting my gig and making money from it? I am peeved. SO peeved. There is nothing I hate worse than theft, lying, and straight up being rude.

Does CS delete it? Remove the gig? What happens?

Well I just got an e-mail saying “Hey Kimberleeb93

Thanks for forwarding these gigs to our attention. We’re going to forward this ticket request to our content editors to review those gigs to make sure they comply with our terms of service and our editors guidelines. Just so you know, we can’t disclose the exact actions that were taken by our editors for user privacy concerns.” I then clicked on the gig I gave them and it directed me to another gig. So I guess they delete them : D!

I’ve just done this in general and found one of mine on a fiverr rival, passed off using my exact wording, which - check this out, has the audacity to use my phrase “It’s not PLR junk it’s my own report” but it’s not it’s mine! Copyright theft as it really is written by me!

Furious! Suitable warning shot fired over to them!

I saw the Gig you mention when they first put it up. At first, I thought it was YOUR Gig, but with a new video… and, certainly, this is perhaps what this persons intent was — to appear as though it was you in order to garner sales.

I tried to contact you to let you know, and for some reason, this freaking site tends to crash on me… at least the Forums do! Right now, in fact, it is crashing! I keep getting Error boxes, so, I am sure I will have issues getting this response posted…When I couldn’t get the contact button to work, I took it as a “sign” of sorts to let it be, and that you may already have known and took care of it. There is nothing worse I suppose than adults who are tattlers.

I agree, though, this person is too lazy to even write their own profile, or feels they have to steal from someone who is successful here. Imitation may be a form of flattery, but, at least switch it up a bit and make it your “own”. This just shows pure laziness.

Copying profiles from your competition has long been a problem on every psychic site I work on. They don’t copy the lesser known readers…it is always the ones who are on the front page… LOL

I personally feel this person should have their account yanked… But, I am sure that would be too harsh. They knew what they were doing when they right clicked and copy/pasted. They knew they were stealing content in order to garner sales.

You seem to have a good rapport with CS and I am sure they will at least get the girl (who seems to have inappropriate rather than professional pics on her profile–what are those called when you hold out the phone and snap yourself making a puckering face to the cam? A selfie? LOL) to write her own profile.

Funny, I wonder if the pics are even of her/him/it? Her video intro is just a mish mash of stuff thrown together, not a video of the “hot girl” in the pics…

Anyways… LOL

Ugh, I hope CS takes care of it soon… There is nothing I hate more than someone so lazy or so desperate that they feel the need to steal… there are no Robin Hoods over the internet.

I did wonder the same thing, though, if this was someone that has stolen pictures. I think I shall run a google search on it while I can’t work at the moment anyway (little baby is poking my face)

There is a program called TinEye I think that you can use on any pic on the net and it will tell you where on the net it came from… LOL

So many psychic sites I am on have “readers” ( and I use the word loosely ) using model pics, stock photos, photos stolen from FB or dating sites and passing them off as themselves in order to get calls. So many go from being a woman one day, then realizing that putting in their bio how they will give a “man’s perspective” and changing their pic to be a man the next is rampant. Same with some who will use elderly lady pictures to give the implication that they are some nurturing and wise granny on the other end of the chat/phone line… LOL Sort of like the XXX phone lines using hot chick pictures and the woman you call is actually sitting on her couch in a trailer with 16 cats in sweat pants… LOL When I saw the pics attached to this persons Gig, I felt it wasn’t even the person in the Gigs pics. Mainly because, look, if I were that cute girl offering readings, I certainly would use my gifted DNA to make a vid of myself telling potential clients how well I could read their cards…instead “they” put up a vid of “words”… well, ok then!

As for the site crashing, I don’t get the site itself crashing so much as I do the forums!! It always seems to happen when I want to reply to something…which makes me think maybe I am not supposed to!

I didn’t see that Gig on the first page today, maybe it has been paused or removed. She had it up for about 3 weeks I think so far. Even had an order from someone I dealt with…

It just boils my grits when people do that. Anytime I proved to CS that someone was in violation of my copyrights, they always deleted the gig. They need an upgrade to the site so when duplicate content is entered, it immediately rejects it. Too many people are getting away with nonsense. This one guy created a similar gig, signed up to a website with MY EMAIL ADDRESS (which was dumb), and completed a gig order. I got the notification, deleted his work, and contacted Fiverr’s support and the website’s support. Fiverr couldn’t do anything about that situation because it happened off of Fiverr, but that it was definitely the weirdest thing that ever happened to me as a seller. The one buyer he did have, ended up ordering from me later on. 🙂

How on earth did he get your email address?!?

Yup lame. I don't look like a psychic or a tarot reader by any means-- but I really don't care. I never thought to steal someone else's pictures... dignity! Don't leave without it!

I noticed someone copying one of my gigs too. I reported it and my gig was removed because of it, even though I created mine 5 months ago and that copygig was created about a month ago and had not received a single feedback.

Lesson learned: Do not report if someone is breaking fiverr’s terms of use.
