What you have said is right but the ratings system is tricky, I have seen so many posts around from new sellers who can not send offers any more due to the ratings being dropped, If i were on the age say like 93% positive rating i think i would over-deliver, charge lower maybe and trade myself a 5 star review which enhances my positive rating, In principle what you said is right but the situation isn’t same for everyone so i guess it just varies from case to case. If i negotiate myself a 5 star review down to my words of wisdom or over-delivering, no one should have issues with it, Though pushing a buyer for 5 star review is not a good thing at all.

so asking 5 star rating after delivery is wrong according to fiverr TOS ? I dont think it is, bcoz i would ask only when he is 100% satisfied with the work…

sometimes the sellers are just too lazy or uninformed to even complete an order, they grab the files we send them and they just leave, and i don’t think it is bad to request a five star review if the customer liked our service. i mean yes you should only ask for it if you think you did a good job 🙂
this would also remind him that he has to complete the order before leaving…
but at the same time one should never DEMAND for a five star review or a tip if he thinks that the customer was not satisfied, that would only Back fire.

Many of my customers are new to Fiverr , and they don’t know how much these 5 star feedback is important for us (sellers). So yeah , i think if your service is good enough to get 5 star , you should ask buyer politely .

Am very sorry your experiences on fiverr has been unsatisfactory, and to make it all worst sellers a requesting a full star review, that is just wrong.

Why do we have to complete review prior to receiving all files? I marked as complete but did not review, was not planning on 5 star due to issues but seller keeps asking for 5 star review before sending all files. I feel that the files are being held hostage and not sure if I would get the files if the seller does not like my review. If I wait the 3 days and the project autocompletes (with no review) will the seller send the files then? I personally like to review the results and that the files are as expected; transparency, social media files, etc. before providing a honest review. I am less likely to trust the rating system now since it seems to be required to complete order.

I will advice you should contact customer care about this, he might not finish your work, and trying to use that to buy time
