Giving files to "friends"

I had a message from a friend of a past client wanting files to print them something with, as a surprise. I sort of feel uncomfortable handing people the files when I don’t actually know if they’re friends etc. Luckily or unluckily, I only have the purchased file left, which is not what they wanted (I delete anything I won’t use in my portfolio after a certain time) so I had to say no but had I had the original file, if it was you, would you of giving it to them?



Seems weird to me.
