Clear Communication is the key

I just wasted an hour disputing an order with a buyer over $4 after already doing the work. They were confusing to begin with and once the order was delivered and sent to them, they said I had copied and pasted from another page!!! So aggravating!!!

Fiverrs, beware of roeylevi80 or anyone whose messages seem difficult to understand. Use simple English in communicating your expectations and questions. Argh. What a waste of time.

I’m not saying you did anything wrong in this case.

A great rule of thumb when working with a client is to use the ‘5 Wives and 1 Husband’ rule. What, Why, When, Who, Where and How, are vital in truly understanding what’s in the mind of the customer, since the words ‘clean design’ and ‘professional’ can mean different things to different people.

To that end, avoid using closed questions like ‘Do’, ‘Will’, ‘Can’, ‘Have’, until later in your conversation. Closed questions have a habit of leading the customer down a specific path, which may be completely irrelevant to your project.
