What do you do if you start working on the order but buyer doesn't reply?

Hi
I think you should definitly deliver the order before the deadline.
You can explain the reason in a simple and polite way.
The buyer can allways ask for a modification and you are good to go.

What i say normally is something like this" Hello, im delivering this order so i dont get bad reputation. Please send me your feedback when you can. Look forward to hear from you…"

I dont have so much orders but so far it allways worked for me. I believe(and experienced) that good and simple communication is key for a happy costumer

I also had a similar incident where a client placed an order for a voice over without contacting me first as stated in my description. After I began working on the order, I realized that the script was longer than 30 secs as indicated and I contacted him to get a feedback plus I wanted clarification on delivery. I worked hard on the job during a difficult period and made the deadline only to receive a negative feedback which have reduced my 5 star ratings that I just started building to 2 stars. I was so devasted I wanted to just quit Fiverr, but a friend advised me to stay on. I haven’t received anymore orders since and I don’t feel motivated to continue or add anything to my gigs. This post was indeed helpful where I will probably contact customer service to request them to remove the negative rating if possible, and I’ll also add additional guidelines in my description for clients to follow. Thanks again for sharing.

This post has indeed been wonderful, and a greater motivator for newbie like me.I actually got my 1st order about 2 weeks ago and i responded instantly, kept communicating with the buyer, but he wouldnt just respond. After i got the job delivered and i asked for a review which he never did,he got in touch after 3 days telling\asking if a phone number be added which i declined initial.I eventually did his job within 30mins and got it delivered to him,the guy still rated me low.I really don’t know what to do because he got me so devastated.

Reply to @usnass: Actually hitting order button by accident was happen once by me. I am a seller but I really did accidentally hit the order button on someone gig. The reason is I’m using Fiverr apps on my tablet, and I have balance on my account. The whole process just one click and the order just sent without any prior notice until I get a nudge from the buyer to fill my requirement. I feel so sorry to that buyer, but I still appreciate he allowed me to cancel the order.

Hi,

I joined Fiverr for last nine months and no sale yet though. I have some similar experiences with the buyers, not after confirming the order rather they stopped communicating at the initial stage of cpmmunication.

You know, how exciting it is for seller like me to get msg. from buyers who is waiting for a single sale to make but get no sale.

In last nine months I got msgs. from three buyers and in two cases I got no reply from the buyers after I replied them to get clear idea about the job. Out of these two cases the last one I received from a buyer 4 days back. I replied him within half an hour after completing a little home work on his job (What type of service he require, what is my skill and how I can satisfy him more, what else I need to successfully complete the job etc.). Surprisingly than after I did not see that buyer online any more till now when I am writing this comment.

I am not frustrated but the situation made me ask, why they waste their time and make us do the same?

Thanks

Reply to @atulan: i’m a level 2 seller and until now this still happen to me. what i can suggest for you, is to add as more gigs as possible, in different categories. and try to be all the time in the buyers requests page waiting for new requests and reply to them asap, this is how i got my first orders, and i still do it until now.

good luck

My case in a regular order

I have 3 days to complete the order, into the first 12 hours I do some part but I need feedback to continue, if the buyer is in “silence” I close the order, send the job completed so far and post this message

I’ve closed the order to stop the countdown because it’s about to reach zero, it’s not good to my account if the clock runs out of time, but no worries, it won’t affect anything to our agreement, let me know when you review the file to keep going

To me it’s frustrating when someone needs more than 24-36 hours to reply

Great day to everyone 🙂

I received my first order, it’s been over 24 hours and they haven’t provided information so the gig hasn’t started yet. They were online all night after ordering, maybe they left their phone logged in or something I dunno. But I was excited to start working on my first gig, I hope he gets back to me soon, does this happen a lot to sellers?

Reply to @hernandezel: This is impossible when you have a business like me with complicted actions in a cartoon animation. Its happening often the client want modifications the last day and I deliver to late in 50 % cause the actions the want a change on! Ithink Fiveer should do about this issue. I delivered always in time or day before but then the modification with actions takes more time to change. Then I am late every time!
