Confused Fiverr Newbie: My buyer did not place an order, but I sent him my work

I’m new to Fiverr, and someone messaged me to do research content for a website. I was not aware that the buyer needed to press “place an order” and I wasn’t aware that I needed to submit my work through my dashboard.



My buyer and I were exchanging messages here, and I just sent him my work. Does that mean I don’t get paid?



What do I do? I don’t really understand how Fiverr works. How do I know someone actually ordered my service? Is it considered an “order” when someone messages you?



Please help 😦

Yes,



You will not get paid.



If somebody orders, you will get a notification and an order will be made. The messaging system is separate to the ordering system.
