Collecting gigs can help with your rankings on Fiverr search. So people collect each other gigs to help each other out.

OT: I doubt collecting gigs affects your search rankings at all, as that can be artificially boosted as you have witnessed. It only helps when someone views someone else’s collected gigs and may spot your gig there.
