Fiverr has so many different options that it can be intimidating for new users who are trying to figure out how to navigate. Hopefully we can offer you a few tips on how to make your first Fiverr sale.

Create an Account

This may seem like a no-brainer, but you can’t sell anything without first creating a Fiverr account. You can choose to log in by linking Fiverr with your existing social media accounts such as Twitter and Facebook, or by creating and entirely independent account using an email address and password. The former can actually be beneficial as it allows you to use those social accounts to market your work to friends and family with just one button click.

Set up your Profile

They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression and on Fiverr, your profile is your first impression so make it a good one. Create a profile that will reflect the tone of your gigs. If you’re planning on making 2 minute clown videos, your profile should be bright and colorful, whereas if you’re offering your services as an obituary writer, your page and picture should be a little more toned down and sober. Don’t be afraid to sell yourself a little, though.

Create a Gig

This is quite possibly the most important thing you can do to ensure you get that first sale; make a gig so you have something to sell! Choose the category your services belong in and create a gig. Add a picture and a video to make your page really pop to your potential buyers. People are more likely to buy your gig if you have a video, so spend a little time making a short informational video that describes your gig and what it is you do.

Marketing!

This is the best way to help bring in that first sale. Make a website, create some business cards, share your gigs on those social media sites that we mentioned before, and really sell your work! Sure, you can put up a gig and hope that someone sees it, though that can be touch and go as a new seller, but if you really want that first Fiverr sale, spend a little time promoting your work.

Be Patient

After all that, don’t expect the gigs to start rolling in immediately. It can take some time for the right buyer to find your gig. Buyers have so many options to choose from that it can take a while for the more discerning ones to reach your gig. Once they do though, watch out. It won’t take too long before you have a bunch of repeat clients that love your work. Once that happens, you’re well on your way to becoming a successful Fiverr seller.

Hopefully these can help you land that first gig and to become the Fiverr seller that you want to be. Good luck!
