Petition to remove 'Response Rate' [ARCHIVED]

Reply to @onlinedzshop: Just a side comment - I’m not involved otherwise in your dispute with anyone here - but the correction on your English is helpful. We all make typos even if we are native English speakers but a buyer can be turned off by an error.

As far as the rest of your commentary here, proceed as you wish or not. I do agree with this thread in general and am against the response rate feature which does not appear to function properly even if it was a good idea.

Mine appears to have gone down today for no particular reason. I haven’t sent or received any messages that I know of including spam. Mine is now 80%. It was 100% the last time I recall glancing at it on a day when I did receive messages and respond to them. This isn’t the first time mine has appeared to be broken.

I don’t know if it affects our accounts and I keep assuming not. I even try to reassure others that I haven’t seen anything in the help menus or elsewhere that says it hurts anything, but I still dislike it and even if it worked correctly it’s kind of like seeing that “REJECTED” messages when a buyer wants a simple modification. It’s negative reinforcement and that isn’t a good thing.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for starting this petition! I’m glad we’re all on the same page here.

Dear Fiverr,
PLEASE PLEASE remove the response rate! I went from a 100% response rate to all my buyers and ended up going down to 87% and it’s possibly going to go down more because I didn’t realize I had to “unmark” automatically “marked” spam comments to report them or something? (I still don’t quite get it because I just joined Fiverr last month)
On top of that, I had already deleted those spam comments because honestly who keeps spam around?

This option is giving us more anxiety than it’s worth…I also buy other people’s gigs on Fiverr, and when I choose who to buy gigs from, I base it on the QUALITY and presentation of their gigs…not on their response rate!

Totally in agreement. I find myself between an 89-95% response rate when the only messages I haven’t responded to are things like “Ok.” It’s impossible to keep up when the other person sends you something that doesn’t merit a response!

I don’t really mind the feature per say, but I have responded to every single message within a day since it implemented and my rate keeps dropping to 95%~80% or lower. I don’t see any unanswered messages. What should I do?

Posted

Well this feature has been working ok for me. I normally respond within an hour or 2. They say that it’s the very first message you receive from a buyer that affects the response rate. So when someone messages you for the first time, answer them ASAP. After that, the rate won’t be affected.

Agreed. My response rate has dropped from 92% to 75% in a very short period of time and I have had zero messages to affect this, so how is this even an accurate measure of response rate? This is unreliable and not factual, and a feature that needs to go away.

Response rate system is completely and utterly broken. Spammers are spamming my inbox like crazy, and most of the messages are marked as spam automatically by the system… I can’t even respond. BUT. They still effect the response rate, which is absolutely infuriating especially for a new seller. This system would be a good idea if it wasn’t totally broken and spammed constantly.

i agree , this kind of stupid feature should be remove immediately specially when it is poorly programmed.

Posted

My response rate is dropping every day although I haven’t received any new messages and I have replied to all messages I got so far. I really dislike this feature.

Posted

i guess it depends on Level of Sellers… For New Sellers its very important to have such a feature but where as TRS for them as they already loaded with lots of orders they really shud be given more space on this part !

It’s a ridiculous feature, because it requires you to be the last person speaking in every dialogue you have via message, or you haven’t responded.
100 % no value in having it, and as someone said it doesn’t reflect a seller’s ability to perform the task on hand efficiently, and as advertised.

This definitely needs to be addressed. I go back and forth in response rate “wars” with other sellers because neither of us wants our response rate to go down. So we end up sending each other “thanks!” and “sure thing” and “:)” and it’s just getting ridiculous. There needs to be a way to close a thread or mark it as “resolved” or something, so that it doesn’t continue to affect your response rate. (Or just do away with the response rating altogether.)

I usually reply asap (thanks to the Fiverr mobile app) but a couple of days ago I received a spam message and ignored it for the moment. Later on I logged in to Fiverr on my PC and reported it. But since it wasn’t a message from a customer or a prospect I took some time . . like a day.

Bam . . my response rate dropped from 100% to 75% overnight.

I am not amused.

From what I see it looks like the “response rate” includes ALL messages including when a prospect just says “thank you”. And it includes spam messages. Mine is showing 50% and that’s pure crap. When it’s a legitimate question I respond within 24 hours unless it’s the weekend and I’m at work.

My response rate is declining rapidly, and I have done everything I could to keep it up. One of my threads with a client broke, and I could no longer reply with my mobile phone. She could only see my reply if I used my PC.

They need to remove the response rate monitor. It still has glitches.

My response rate is 90%, yet I respond to absolutely every message. Unless at the end of a discussion if it’s just “bye”…it’s buggy imo

Once again I have problems with my Response Rate %. I reported this to Support and they fixed it for me last year. After a few weeks it went from 100% down to 80% all of a sudden. It doesn’t seem to want to go up again. The system should report the last 30 days, but it’s not working correctly for many people.

Well, I never care the less about this new feature that is really annoying… So people need to be slaves of fiverr system. This feature only penalizes and focus in replies to replies… What a time wasting feature.

But last week i had a few gigs that were on the 1st to 3rd spot in my category that dropped 30-60 positions. I didn’t make any change so the only factor here is this new feature so i have lost 40% impressions and around 25% sales.

Or was this or Fiverr changed a lot in the algorithm
