It’s not AUDIANCE. You’re welcome. Now leave me be and save your opinions for someone who cares, because no one in this forums cares what you think about someone else, they care about sales and about results. Try it, and examine your gigs before you try to spill your hate on others…

I reply to every message that isn’t spam. I’ve had a couple of instances where the system wouldn’t even let me open the message because of “privacy reasons” and my response rate was lowered to 95%. It’s not fair! How is it my fault that the other user has those privacy settings? So annoying!

Replied to all the messages within the hour. Response rate was 100% until this evening. Suddenly dropped to 83%.

Double checked my inbox and every single message has been replied to.
Is this a bug that’s affecting everyone?

Reply to @gingerwriter: hello. 200% agree with all the post here. Yes Ginger is right; the customers don’t come from one country but a lot. So the timezones will be different. Some will send during our sleeping time. Its funny when I reply and the rate shoots up, when spam comes with the link and I don’t reply, the rate shoots down all of a sudden. I think this is also one of the reason why the sales and views getting lower day by day. Because they thought me really late reply to them, or never reply. I always reply to the messages, of course accept spams.

I really, really hope that this need to be fix, or better removed the response rate for good. Otherwise other real consumers that wants real service will see “oh she/he have low response rate, so I don’t want to go to them”. I hope this feature will be removed. So yes, you got my vote on yes; please removed the response rate for good.

I guess one more reason which I notice comes from when I send a ticket to customer support. At this moment my reponse rate is still 100%, but when I remember customer support respond to me late(in 3 days or more I remember), my rate drops suddenly to 88%… I don’t know whether that ticket responded by them had an effect on my ratings too… 😦

I agree! It’s the fourth time or so when my response rate has suddenly dropped, even though I have responded to ALL messages. Even spammers, lol.

So I have had to create multiple tickets to flood the already slow support queues. And now it has happened again, so yet another ticket coming soon ._____.

So either fix it, or remove it until it’s fixed. Keeps sellers happy, and ticket queues shorter!

Agreed that it is a terrible feature as it exists now. We have replied to all messages, even spam, just to keep the rating up, but no to avail. I would like them to either fix it or remove it entirely.

My response rate dropped drastically, due to a spammer constantly sending me mail to join there "gig selling’ site. Also, many of my gigs are international, so the messages come in over night and I ANSWER promptly first thing in the morning. I also have been dinged because someone asks a question, I answer, then they say “ok” and I am forced to answer back again so I don’t have my response rate get any lower. Though, I just checked, and while typing this, it went lower.

Please Fiverr, change this policy to stop hurting sellers. I answer all of my emails, with in an hour.

Even though I respond to all inquiries within the hour my response rate keeps lowering…I just don’t get it…Is it even possible to bring it back up to 100%?

I absolutely despise this feature. Countless messages to Fiverr support I am no wiser. I answer all messages every day within 3 hours of receiving them (after all I can’t sit in front of the PC 24/7). I feel micromanaged and stressed out. It makes me want to move to alternative websites to Fiverr.

Just adding my voice here - I am fed up of this “feature” also.

I answer every message within 12 hours tops (I am in Europe and most come in when I am going to bed) but the ones I receive during waking hours are answered within an hour or two, so that should even things out. But my response rate just keeps getting lower.

Like the poster above, I also feel I am being micromanaged - if I want that I will go and work in a takeaway or something.

Note to Fiverr staff: Many people freelance because they do not want someone looking over their shoulder judging every tiny decision they make - I certainly don’t want that and even less from a non-functioning algorithm bot judging my every action.

Reply to @steveeyes: You know, as soon as you leave the guy one message, that counts as having responded, and you don’t need to worry about getting the last word.

I just use generic quick-responses for spam (Dont get that much anyway). Works and takes like 1 second.

I spend many hours seven days a week answering dozens of messages, only to see my response rate dropping. If I manage to hit 100% it is short lived and I then must wait a month or more to hope that this time I did it perfectly.

I dont know for you, bit this feature works awesome for me and does not show fake result, I even took note of messages I responded and ones I did not, it is always 100% except this few last day, I lost my internet and it dropped down to 98%…
(it calculates last 30 days form this exact moment, so consider messages you answered 30 days and 1 minute before are not calculating in response rate anymore…

Problem here is that no one does not know how exactly “response rate” bar works, I know it actually has no any connection to “average response time”
(average time, is calculated like this: Sum of hours (minutes) you took to answer to first message you received from someone, divided by total number of messages you answered…

_this I actually read somewhere here on forum and it was posted by someone who had “sheriff badge”

When you have to contact CS 5 times in a week to fix it, obviously something is BROKEN, bar the fact it’s really a pointless feature, I mean who cares how long it takes for someone to reply to a msg in their inbox? You shouldn’t be penalized for it nor for failing to respond to AUTO BLOCKED SPAM (like seriously this is the most annoying aspect of it), especially on the weekends, it really is a pointless feature and should be removed altogether!
