Reply to @fixmyprocess: My sales plummeted into oblivion and back possibly because of this… I don’t know why it went down, and I don’t know why it went up… It’s just something else to worry about that was not really necessary I believe!

Seriously they should get rid of this… For a few days I was getting this same Youtube spam link that I keep deleting, as well as these spam messages, and my response rate is so bad now. It feels like I’m getting negative impacts on my sales because of this, despite them saying that this is a feature only we are able to see.

Having to respond to ‘HELLO’. That’s ridiculous. I don’t know you. I can answer questions and inquiries but when they start with ‘Hello’ and end with nothing else…just ‘hello’, then I should have the right to IGNORE this message w/out being PUNISHED for it. It’s COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS and if you thought you were a FREElancer on Fiverr, you are wrong. Do it their way, or take the highway. They don’t care if you are new or TRS, these stats are a communist way of forcing people to behave a certain way and strip them of the Freedoms they have and feel and once they get comfortable, hit em again.

I shouldn’t have to report these sellers who send me an UNSOLICITED custom offer. I should be able to BLOCK THEM!! Without replying, without a process. Hit a button, block for good. I do report them, and they get mad when I do, like I’m the one who spammed them…lol.

Income stream, sure. Security and Freedom. Not a chance.

I don’t want the response rate mis-feature. I don’t think it has much effect on us right now and I try to console nervous sellers on the forum. What I believe is that at some point it will be used against us.

Mine usually stays high because I use a combo of canned responses and mobile to answer. Then came 2 external spammers that were blocked by Fiverr plus 2 internal spammers that were also blocked by Fiverr. I couldn’t respond but hoped it wouldn’t matter for blocked users. A day or so later my rate dropped from 99% into the 80’s. Great.

I just noticed if you ignore a person one time and take the hit for it, then you are free to ignore them a second time without taking another percentage hit. Cool!

I agree wholeheartedly! If someone messages me, we must each keep up an endless loop of comments to keep our response rate healthy … it wastes time and energy and is just making me frustrated with the whole process… especially since most of the messages I get are unsolicited custom offers.

I always answer any message ( except spam message ) within 1 hour even while i sleeping ( i turn on my mobile’s notification alarm ) but my response rate is going down. I don’t understand how Fiverr calculate it. I don’t like this and i think Avarage response time is enough for both buyer and seller. When seller doesn’t reply to a message that mean that message is not worth for him to reply.

As a customer:

This results in a lot of sellers simply replying 'i’m looking into it now’
At the same time, adding pressure on sellers to respond quickly is probably a good thing! I’ve got a few sellers i’ve been waiting 4+ days to hear back from…

Reply to @catwriter: mine went down from 100% due to a spammer contacting me … and was apparently banned because I couldnt even read the message he sent to my inbox… nor could I reply to it …

Bye bye 100% response rating… Thanks spammer…

Fiverr this feature is not helping buyers or sellers. Please remove it.
No buyer is taking it seriously once they understand the feature anyway.

Reply to @jackllartin: yea I gave up on mine too from the recent funeral I had to attend so … yea real life gets in the way , but a 67% rating does make you look like you don’t care at all… and I’m sure it’s not a proper reflection of your services … just as much as my 80% rating I have right now. This feature is bogus.

Reply to @gailbunning: same here … several in fact … people trying to steal me to go on other fiverr sites… I cant even respond to them to raise my response rate… so bye bye 100% response rate…

Reply to @dtongsports: Yea thats another reason.

I don’t like to respond to “Hi”

95% of the time its someone looking to spend $5 for something worth $50 and I look at their profile and its some guy who took a selfie in the bathroom calling himself BigRich2000 or something…

Like … no … If you got business you want to happen… think first , write a message… Don’t waste anyone’s time…

No adding pressure to sellers is not a good thing when they juggle 8-12 clients during the week each with different proposals and complexities… Trust me , we don’t need pressure. We certainly don’t want to HAVE TO login and waste our time writing “I’m looking into it now” … Get it ? =)

Buyers just do your part , send the message to 20 sellers and work out the best deal right? Set a deadline on picking a buyer and hope for the best is what I’d do.

I agree… As you can see:

I too do not support this and find it silly.
I have replied to every message I got within hours.Last few days I was on vacation mode and when I removed it, it shows average response time as 1week+ though I did not receive a single message.
Most of the messages I receive are from USA and I stay in India.Due to the difference in timezone I am not able to respond them Immediately which is not my fault.

I agree completely. A lower percentage makes no sense when so many messages simply don’t need responses. The examples given here are all good. I don’t respond to spammers or people who ask odd personal questions or anything like that.

I don’t agree, if you read well, you will see that reporting a message is considered as responding to it, responding once is enough you don’t have to have the last word. -Read people-
@dtongsports I’d love to see you once saying something nice or not being rude or at least talking with nice words. Good luck %%-
You may insult me now people
