About charging extra for commercial use

I’m an illustrator here, and I was just wondering if anybody has any tips on how much I should charge for commercial use. Should I charge less for commercial use than what I charge for the service or more? I’m going to create a gig where I make comics and charge $5 per panel. Is it possible to automatically raise the commercial fee for each panel ordered? or would I have to tell the buyer personally that they have to pay extra after they’ve ordered?

I’ve seen sellers charge up to $100 for commercial usage licenses. From what I’ve seen overall, $10-20 seems fairly to be the average.



For now though, I’d keep the price free/low if I were you as you don’t want to put off buyers. As you become more established, the price is definitely something you can play with.

Did Fiverr put this on as an automatic extra for illustraion gigs? I thought this was talked about in the forums the other month.

Oh ans if it’s not automated, just add it as an “extra” for commercial use, however do be sure to state in your ad that the illustraions are for personal use and to purchase the extra licensing gig for commercial use.
