No more reviews for Yelp, Tripadvisor, and Google Places

Apparently it now violates their TOS to write reviews on their platform for money, which I suppose is understandable. I found out because fiverr pulled one of my gigs that mentioned those websites.

this isn’t new. its against the TOS of the other parties that it violates, and your account could get banned or deleted entirely on them. same as sites like Amazon, Yelp, Google Plus.

bought reviews aren’t allowed on them.

Buying likes, followers and sending traffic from god knows where should be banned too.

Anybody who pays for these services in the hope of better search ranking is just wasting their money. Do a little digging into how SEO works and what Google in particular looks for, and you'll see that their super-duper-secret search algorithm can see through these tricks. Depending on the size and frequency of these artificial likes from known sources of artificial traffic, Google will lower or even remove the site in question from search results.
