xtinamitchell
Okay so obviously I am new here and I posted my first gig request. I wanted to know what the fiverr community etiquette is like here on fiverr. Because I am generally a kind/polite person, I was wondering if I should respond to everyone who responded with interest in my gig or if I simply move on and contact the person I chose for the project? Many Thanks in advance for all responses!
julipalmer7
Hello,I am generally like that I would respond to them to let them know that you have not chosen them and apologize but some buyers on Fiverr do not do that, its generally a matter of choice. lunabea
Hi, welcome to Fiverr! We don’t usually get responses - I’ve had one or two - but it’s nice to do if you have the time. I think each seller gets 10 requests to use per day so you may get a load and find you can’t respond to them all.Perhaps you could send a response to those who have taken the time to send you a message alongside the offer, as sellers can also just send an offer on its own.You can also post your project here on the Forum - I find it’s useful for anyone you may want to contact at a later date. trinarium
I’m completely new here as well, however I would say that it’s never a bother to hear back from someone, even if the answer is ‘Thanks but not this time.’ It might depend on the volume of your responses, if you are completely overwhelmed then it’s not reasonable for everyone to expect a personal message. fastcopywriter
If you want to be polite, just place an order and provide instructions. Sellers like me don’t like wasting time with back and forth before any money is put on the table. Also, don’t respond to people unless you have additional questions. When I answer a buyer’s request, the last thing I want is some buyer to let me know I haven’t been chosen. What am I supposed to do then? Reply “thanks for not choosing me?” In a way, Fiverr is like online dating, if you don’t like someone, you don’t need to reply, “sorry, you’re not my type.” Ignoring them works best. liftfm
We own a radio station network and messaged a voice over professional with the work we wanted her to do but never heard from her. It was several days ago. We decided we couldn’t wait any longer and as such we wrote again to her informing her that we are going to hire someone else.Based on this experience, we are concerned regarding the use of fiverr.I suspect that some people (sellers) that post on this site feel $ 5 isn’t worthy of the work so they only answer when they feel like it. The buyers are usually businesses as we are, so this is a prescription for problems. If this is system wide, it could pose a problem in the survival of fiverr. tsweezey
I reply to everyone, just as I would with my business. I don’t treat my account management any differently on fiverr… just because it’s fiverr.
fonthaunt
Reply to @liftfm: I just make sure to message more than 1 person if I’m looking to buy. I don’t necessarily hire the first one that replies but some never reply at all, so I choose from those who reply in time for me to get done what I need.I had favorited a gig I wanted to buy but I had just withdrawn my funds so I waited until I had a few bucks in my account. I sent the seller a message when I had the money to ask her one question (and in doing so, make sure she was an active seller.) Her gigs were up but she hadn’t sold any yet. The day after I messaged her I hadn’t received a reply so I went to look and now all her gigs are suspended but there is no sign of an account problem. Go figure! I don’t think it means Fiverr is going anywhere, it just means with so many sellers a buyer can and may have to be a little discerning.
Guest digilancer99
As a seller, I don’t expect any response unless the buyer is somewhat interested in my services. Otherwise, no big deal. I assume there are way too many sellers to get to for a buyer to send a message to every single one. I would just respond to the select few who you’re interested in, and go from there. Now, if you’ve already started a conversation, it’s nice to respond. I always appreciate when buyers tell me if they’ve decided to go with another seller. It gives me some closure, even if I’m not 100% sure the buyer will eventually hire me. masterblasterz
Well well well, for me it all depends on the volume of interest you get. If they are too much, it’s a pure no no. That would be time wasting except you just have all the time and would want to have fun responding to all of them. The basic thing is go through the offers you get and contact maybe the most suitable 3, chat them up, see what they have to offer and settle for one eventually. It all depends on you sweetie…
