Video editing

Hi all,

I got a video made for me but he did not make it full screen as requested and it has a black border. I now cannot get hold of him and need the video for my new site. I need to know if it is possible to edit a video if it has been made by someone else. I do have a full screen version but it needs some text changed and a slight glitch put right. Is this possible and can anyone on here sort this for me?
