Gig delivery time with hand-made products?

Hey, folks; I’m curious to know. When you create a gig for the sale of physical, hand-made products, how do you determine the delivery time for the gig? I mean, I know it’s going to take XYZ business days for the product to arrive in the mail after it’s been finished, but how does the process work for the seller? Do I mark it as delivered at the time I ship it and wait for it to arrive and the customer provides feedback? It’s not clear how this process works compared to digital products and online services.

I would mark it as delivered and then provide proof of postage to the seller - otherwise there is too much risk, the seller could turn around and cancel the gig after you have sent the product or something.

I do not sell physical products but if it’s any help, I’ve just ordered some engraved spoons from a seller and he marked it complete with photography proof. While the spoons looked wonderful in the photos, I am holding off on leaving a review until the items arrive. In this seller’s case, his delivery time is determined by the time it takes him to engrave and ship his products. Hope this gives you some insight!

I would suggest making the delivery time as much as it takes for you to make the product not including shipping and then give them the tracking number when you deliver to provide them proof you sent the product.
