Rights to completed work

Hi

You can contact your seller and ask from him whether he/she is going to give you complete copyright and you can ask him not to use your photo for advertising. As sellers they like to have good portfolio so if you don’t wish to see your image on his portfolio ask him to send some other image to set as portfolio image sample. Hope it helps.

Read the current Fiverr Terms of Service - they’ve recently made some changes regarding copyright & IP. And then do as @zimron89 suggests and get verification from the seller.

But keep in mind, Fiverr is not the most reliable place to do business, so make sure you’re OK with your image potentially being displayed without your permission.

Well, legally I don’t think the seller can use the image as he does not posess any rights over this property. However, it is a mad world and people hardly think twice before ripping off an image so my best bet would be, get a NDA or a decleration signed by the seller especially considering the fact that you could be held responsible later for any misuse of this image.

Technically no one should use an image they do not have the rights to. And why you create something for someone as a work for hire, the buyer owns the rights. So when a designer wants to use something for their portfolio, they should ask your permission.

However, I think many people working on Fiverr do not know about real business stuff like this.

So if you want to know in advance, you have to be sure to ask each seller before you buy something.

HOwever, you can really never know. Fiverr is a big anonymous website, so you are always taking a chance of giving who knows who your photos. If you want that kind of security pay a real designer a proper rate, get a written contract which is standard and then you don’t have to worry about it. For $5-10, you many times get what you pay for.
