Sales slump after merged categories

Recently the Phone Prompts/Messages category was merged with the Voice Over category. Since this time I’ve realized a HUGE loss in sales as a result. I went from an average of 400 impressions a day down to an average of 40 or less!! BOTH my gigs in these two categories barely get any visibility now, and I’ve hardly seen any new customer sales since.

Now this might be understandable as changes often create changes in sales, but my beef is that there are now high sellers on the site (favored sellers who have top seller ratings, etc) who now have TWO gigs (one from each of the merged categories) that ALWAYS rank in the top few rows of all the voice over categories! That includes both Featured as well as Recommended!

Doesn’t seem quite right that now these folks have double the space in this category leaving all of us newer sellers out in the cold.

Anyone else have this issue? If so, how have you countered it? I’ve created a couple new gigs in different categories, but my specialty is Voice Overs. If this slump continues I’ll have to find another venue for my sales, which is sad because I LOVE the idea and platform of this site.

All thoughts welcome, thanks!

I’m wondering if lumping Phone Prompts/Messages in with all Voice Overs is really the right thing to do. Technically phone messages are voice overs…but I think it should be a separate category. My daily impressions are down too and sales have dried up since Fiverr made changes. I had been receiving weekly gig requests on a regular basis since Dec. I’m hoping sales pick up soon…maybe after Fiverr’s changes settle in.

Good luck,

Wendy

Yes Wendy I was thinking the same, and hoping also that things would “settle.” I guess what has me riled is the fact that those who are already top sellers seem to be getting all the impressions while my impressions have nearly vanished since this change.

Maybe it’ll all work itself out 🙂

Is there anything you’re doing in the meantime, to try to bring sales up again? Other than submitting proposals in the “buyer requests” area, I’m at a loss. Does having too many gigs make impressions go down? Maybe more gigs would do it. I just don’t know.

I read somewhere that adding more specialized gigs can help you get more sales but I haven’t gotten any sales on my new gigs. I’m considering just going back to my one best selling gig and hope that I can get the ball rolling again. The only thing I’ve done this week is re-worded my gig description and freshened up my video. There’s not much more I can do.

Hang in there,

Wendy

Yea guess that’s all we can do. If it doesn’t improve in the next few weeks I’ll have to rethink my priorities on this site I guess.

Thanks for your thoughts! 🙂

@kashmiah

So it’s been about 6 days since you left this message, and one of my gigs seems to have some great improvement, but the main gig, , is sadly still very very low. It’s been averaging only 40-50 impressions since the 18th of March!

Would you suggest maybe I create a new gig? Does having more than one gig in the same category now make a difference? I hate to start over with this one since I have all my great reviews on it, but whatever you think might help. Appreciate all your thoughts.

Thanks!
