Hey I’m Jack Stollery, I’m an artist and animator here on ye olde fiverr 😃

My question to you awesome buyers is…

What do you personally like to see in character design/illustration gigs? I’m in the process of refining my character design gig and would like to get some market research!

Thanks 🙂

but how many return people do you have? I mean continuous? I have over 200 stories that need illustrations and find they start out low of price and then want more after my requested gigs have raise them up on fiver. So much for the seller/buyer relationship.

I’ve used many illustrators and only two have kept their original pricing for me and I continue to give them constant work. I’m not demanding on time or deadlines and I don’t ask for redo’s. But I’m on a fixed budget and want my stories illustrated even if only my grandchildren see them. I haven’t written the Harry Potter series (don’t I wish).

so I like to see a guaranteed relationship between buyer and seller that can remain constant.

Reply to @robinfg: That is an interesting thought.

i am wondering if what might be happening when the sellers are increasing the price for your continued work, is that many sellers may go above and beyond what their gigs offers for a few reasons. One is if they are new to get good ratings and rack up orders and the other is to show a buyer what a great job they do so the buyer will come and order a higher paying gig.

When you say 200 stories, how many illustrations per story? And you are looking to pay $5 for each illustration?

There is also an element of doing consistent work with someone as well. Just because a sellers sells something doesn’t always mean that they want to work on one persons work. Maybe they do not enjoy the subject matter or it could just be for other personal reasons having nothing to do with your stories.

But I think some of the business of Fiverr is shifting. Although a seller is required to sell something for $5, most sellers want to earn more than that. So they try to do bigger projects that cost more.
