Hi Fiverr ,

Good morning and afternoon to all of my friends. Today while wording in some Order . i Just realize . Sometime we received such Fiverr Order what you cant do more or way belong to you . and if you end the order . It will fell effect to your profile and buyer mark as complete and leave bad review that also effect seller as well .

So why not there should be a option for seller acceptance option . so that when buyer submit a order seller can be justify whether they can do that or not .

this can be make seller and buyer build up a good relationship .

If you get an order you can’t do, just do file a mutual cancellation request and explain why. Mutual cancellations don’t hurt your ratings (not anymore). Also, if they agree to the mutual cancellation, they can’t leave feedback.

By the same token, the Seller should give a reason for the request to cancel. Is it because the seller is unable to complete the gig because the buyer did something wrong. An explanation would be nice. What if the buyer decided to cancel a day before the deadline date and the seller has already started working on the project? Or the other way around,

the seller cancels at the last minute after completing a number of illustrations, but the book is not finished? There is no protection for either the buyer or the seller.

Reply to @robinfg: Good point, and to further add to that… Buyers often miss the comments associated with the cancellation request. It’s a good idea to type a regular message as part of the order with the detail as to why the order will be cancelled, and then file the mutual cancellation request.

But then this would not longer be a site that buyers can just place orders, it would become a full freelancer site where buyers and sellers are bidding on the jobs.

If you write up a good, clear gig description you should not have this problem too often that a mutual cancellation will hurt you. Also, if you do not have time to do it, then you should be expanding your delivery times.

If this kind of thing happens to you alot, that is not so common and you may want to rewrite your gig, add extra days to your delivery time, or put a note in your gig to “please contact me before placing an order”. Many sellers do that. Then you can trade a few messages to see if it’s the right fit of a job for you or to quote the price or whatever you need to discuss with a possible buyer.

Reply to @sincere18: This is off the top of my head but your response made me think of something. It might be interesting for sellers to have the option to turn a feature like that on or off. It could be a big selling point for newbies or people going through slow patches and perhaps the search page could have a checkbox for “no contact ordering” or some better wording.

People who had problems recently with a buyer or who just didn’t mind taking the slower boat in trade for being able to turn an offer could have the option.

Reply to @fonthaunt: well, if the sellers had that option, that could be a bad thing for buyers. In two ways, it would deter some buyers from contacting someone depending on their status and they might look elsewhere, but also sometimes a buyer wants to contact someone before buying for some questions.

Reply to @sincere18: The “no contact order” as a checkbox isn’t good wording, it was just off the top of my head. I meant to imply that maybe there could be a search filter for those who accepted instant orders with or without contact, versus sellers who only accepted orders after contact. I may not be explaining the idea well, or it might just be a bad idea. I just understand well why some buyers really want a way to refuse orders or at least block certain buyers. I was trying to think around your point that some good buyers want push button ordering.

Reply to @fonthaunt: I got that the wording was juts off the top of your head.

But that changes the whole paradaigm of Fiverr by dong something like that. There are always going to be bad buyers. Just like if you were a freelancer working for yourself, you have to invoice your clients directly and you could have a problem collecting on an invoice anywhere.

I like it! I think the default should be "instant", with the option for sellers to require contact.

Unless I'm missing something, I see an 'instant order sellers' option as being more true to the Fiverr model than the sellers who add text virtually requiring messaging.

Reply to @itsyourthing: but then it also makes it harder for the buyer to find the right person. They aren’t just looking at the gig and the seller to see who is the best seller for their job, but have to sift through who accepts instant orders or vice versa. I would think if that option did work out, I would think that buyers would be hesitant to message sellers anymore if their gig was set to instant order and move on.

Reply to @sincere18: If the search filter (or separate category) worked correctly, there shouldn’t be any additional sifting. If a buyer wants to place an order quickly, they’d pick that cat or filter search to ‘instant’ and then look for the most promising seller the same as they do now.

Buyers shouldn't message sellers who are 'instant' - that's the whole point. And as far as moving on, that's how Fiverr works now... buyers decide whom to buy from by browsing. It will still be down to the individual seller to make their gig the most appealing.
