Chat application for buyers and sellers

I know we have the fiverr inbox, but I suggest adding a chat application - it would make it easier for buyers and sellers to communicate with one another when a buyer needs to reach a seller urgently, or vice versa.

Reply to @kjblynx: I so agree!!! Also if the seller is logged in and working on someones stuff, do they really want to be bothered??? I don’t want to be forced into a chat just because someone sees I am online. I want to be on my own schedule and therefor I don’t see a need for this but I am sure there will be plenty of users who would welcome a chat option.

I like buyers knowing that I’m online–it seems to give them more impetus to message me, knowing that I’m on and they’re more likely to get a fast response to that message. If there was a chat function, however, that would be endlessly annoying. Can you imagine having a demanding buyer suddenly able to send you message after message in a box that pops up on your screen?

I get that some sellers, those who work on very short deadlines, might find this useful, but I really don’t see how it differs from the inbox system, except that it would make messages even more insistent and buyers even more demanding on our time.

I have asked for this feature in the past and personally would love it. Of course I would have to be able to turn it on and off when I wanted to.

ok, so the buyer and seller wouldn’t have to be logged in all the time. And I agree, I wouldn’t want to be bothered while I’m working on something either. But I still think it would be a good way for buyers and sellers to communicate more easily, especially with buyers who live in other countries.
