Fiverr hide the Country of seller from Gig order page, It is effecting to all genuine sellers

HI,

With recent modifications to the Fiverr system, They hide the country of the seller. This is really effecting to the Gig’s like Copy writing and SEO. Because sometimes people like to deal with people in same country or native English speaking sellers for good quality copy writing. Most of sellers using fake Caucasian looking images, when they are really from some south Asian country.



I’m not saying people in south Asian are not genuine. However there are so many fake profile pictures in gig’s posting from India, Pakistan etc.



Please see attached. I hope someone from Fiverr will understand this issue and Add the country to the Gig order form.

Do you mean you want to hide the country ? Because it is visible on seller’s page already.

@donhesh. I’m actually not understanding your idea. Where else do you want the country to show? Sometimes I wish there was no country listed and buyers could pick based on writing and other skills. It’s too easy to fake your country anyway.

Reply to @kay2809: Nope, not once. I don’t know if they banned him from the forum or all of Fiverr. That’s the second recent disappearance I’ve noticed. The guy who was having a fit about his blocked account without waiting to hear from CS is also gone, along with the 2 newer accounts he created. I guess the overlords are cracking the whip! (Which is sometimes a good thing!)

Reply to @fonthaunt: You can’t fake the country from Fiverr… They check your IP. Otherwise all the South Asians in here will born add USA…

It is still there. The country is not hiding. I just clicked on your user name and your profile says the country very clearly.

I think before one of the updates the country used to be listed right beside the profile picture; now it’s down below with what language you speak.

Reply to @donhesh: Sure you can. Fiverr only auto-checks IP and there are thousands of fake profiles right now. The account was made using a proxy server in most cases. Very rarely someone gets caught and Fiverr makes them verify identity, but I do mean VERY rarely.

Fiverr might want to have many sellers and and make money from fake users too. 🙂

If you see a seller is a from india, pakistan etc. you know perhaps you should not hire him for certain jobs like language related, modern -western- design etc. They all are ‘doers’ they think they can do anything and accept any job, but generally speaking their skills level is low as I learned. So yes I defenitely must know from what country sellers are!!!
