Came on fiverr with high hopes but

I’m glad to be part of this forum. I can’t wait to get a first order on fiverr to get me going but it’s not all been encouraging to say the least despite coming with high hopes; first had to battle my gig title been accepted and then to go online. Thanks to supports and search engines though as I later figured out my way around it.

I got a first view from a friend who recommended fiverr for me, saying he believes I am skilled to make cool cash, but since then there has not been any other view (and obviously no order yet). Also my profile still writes ‘not yet rated’.

Considering that my friend started getting his ‘hit’ very early in the game, I am beginning to think I’m not doing something right, or please am I the one expecting too much? :(😦

Some people wait for months before they make their first sale. There’s no rule.

Perhaps you could shorten your gig title a bit. The way it is now, when I look on your page, I see a gig with a title “I will do a fast and flawless 20 minutes Audio or Video”, which gives me no idea what it is you’re offering.

Also, keep in mind that there are a lot of people offering transcripts on Fiverr. Can you come up with something that would make you stand out among all the others?

Reply to @catwriter: Many thanks catwriter for the suggestion. I now know I have a voice to be heard here, and seeing that my topic was also viewed too 🙂

P.S - there seem to be something wrong with the Gig stats too as It still says I have 1 view and 1 click but I know it should have been at leas 2 since catwriter has also viewed.

I had had to come up with several tweaks of my Gig title, hence the last didn’t completely display on my profile (which I have corrected now).

I can do some other stuffs too but writing is where I also find passion (which also seems flooded). I will consider adding other stuffs in due course. My initial compromise had been that if one does not get a view/order, should one create Several Gigs as against tweaking the ‘unproductive’ one?

Reply to @oliviaastute: It takes a while for stats to update, and sometimes they remain incorrect. Don’t let them bother you.

As for how many gigs you’re going to post, it’s really up to you; just keep in mind they shouldn’t be duplicate gigs (as in, essentially offering the same service). So, if a gig isn’t producing results yet, you might want to experiment and tweak it, but that shouldn’t stop you from offering some other kind of service (that is, if you want to offer it).

Some sellers do great with one gig only, while others diversify their offer. You can’t know in advance what would work best for you.

My story: Came to fiverr with no hope. Now working here very well, full time.

I had very basic skills back then. But developed new ones online.

You have to offer some great services.

It takes time to settle here. Not impossible.

Wish you good luck.

I was making only lunch money type sales for the first year. Lunch money + new shoes type sales during the second year. Last few months is looking like new car type sales B-)

I got discouraged and gave up months at a time but it’s definitely worth time investment of time in hindsight. It’s pretty much about to be my full time job soon. Goodluck!
