Paid for a gig - seller delivered several examples - all not what I requested - then seller marked DELIVERED and it appear now I am out of the funds with no logo - what is left to do? This seller work was aweful - not even close to what I asked for a very simple logo. I event sent a design to go by and what he/she delivered was so aweful I wish Fiverr would check this out as it looks like the seller will get payment but I have nothing - not a good logo or my money.

This is really important. Look at eBay’s success. Why? Cos they step in if the thing don’t turn out to be satisfactory. They step in for the customer’s rights and prevent any seller get along with an unsatisfactory result in any transaction. When you are not present and pay upfront to someone who’s 6,000 miles away, why would they deliver perfect service? Negative feedback is not deterring anyone. You can trade further. But if you don’t get the money until satisfaction, you are forced to deliver. This is what freaks me off paying someone here at the minute, that how will I know if he delivers, or will I only purchase wasted time and a lot of bad experience such as wasting my time typing letters, arguing in writing over so clear matters… Really not looking good to me.

Reply to @norbert1977: The significant difference between fiverr and ebay is that ebay predominantly sells tangible products, opposed to services.

With a product, you know what to expect, as it is already manufactured and ready to be shipped.

With a service, the end product will ALWAYS be different depending on the creator.

The key word here is subjectivity. If I create a fantastic logo that takes me 6 hours (for $5) and the buyer says it’s crap, what happens? Is the buyer entitled to a refund based on our creative differences? I would hope not.

This is ridiculous, especially when considering that this is a $5 marketplace. If you pay a graphic designer $500 for a logo, then you can expect multiple rounds of revision, as well as constant communication to ensure an excellent end product; this is all factored into the high price. When you pay $5, you can't expect the seller to "work until you're happy", as by the sounds of things, that day may never come...

Firstly, a seller cannot mark an order as complete. If you did not send forth a modification request but merely left the order open for three days, Fiverr automatically closes the order.

If you have an issue, please notify Customer care and let them take the situation over from there.

But for future notice, make good use of the modification request feature, as not all update notifications come through to sellers. Also there are simply very dishonest sellers, who wouldn’t advise you to doing this and let the order close, taking your money along with it.

So Contact customer care and let them help you rectify the issue and most possibly receive and refund.

All the best!
