achkouk
We see various “designers” doing logos for 5$ and is it really a logo or just a cheap template who use for every buyer order and chaged only the name ?People do not understand how important a good logo is and how valuable it is to their business , and they don’t understand that a logo is not some colors and a brand name , a logo is a your identification and your first image your client see , althought your company is professionnel , you’ll not get the client , because your logo don’t give him the right vesion of your company !Now , and to give a brief about our process to make logo are : first , we read client’s message , then we do some research , sketching , presentation to the client … Do you think all that time we spend to creat a logo deserve 5$ ?and there’s other reasons , so please if you’re thinking to lanch you start up company don’t pay 5$ or choose the right designer , because 99% designers here in fiverr are using only templats and they change only the name , so maybe you’ll meet your twinks logos sonner 😉
Guest dzgn_101
I agree with everything you said mate.It pains me to see some buyers are that naive to not know that $5 won’t get them more than 10 minutes of a designer’s time. Which is obviously not enough time to research a brand and develop a unique logo. Good branding design does cost thousands for a reason. But not every logo needs to cost that much, a logo for a blog or similar doesn’t need as much research and can be done relatively quick. So there is a market for lower end logos, that should cost in the hundreds. However, I don’t think Fiverr is fulfilling that market, neither are 99designs and other crowdsourcing sites. What’s happening is that people have come to expect design for so cheap that they get shocked at the real figures of studios and freelance designers. Meanwhile the markets are flooded with rubbish work and rubbish brands that won’t survive their first year in business. If a business has only allocated $5 to their branding expenses then they don’t know much about business at all.Fiverr has it’s worth though, it’s great for concepts and to start a conversation about developing an identity. $5 is a good start, but buyers should really expect their logo to end up costing them a lot more. One way or another, it will.A must read for any buyer thinking of purchasing a logo here:http://blog.folyo.me/the-5-dollar-logo/http://blog.folyo.me/the-5-dollar-logo//images/menu-open.svgThe Folyo Bloghttp://blog.folyo.me
achkouk
@dzgn_101 , I totaly agree with you , 5$ will never give the right logo for a company , because , you’ve always to edit the logo , so instead of paying twice for logo , pay just once for a good logo 😃 . and save your time and moneyand at least we see some great logos in 99designs

Guest vectormoon
There is no design background needed for $5 or even for $50 logo. Just about anyone with basic Illustrator or Photoshop skills can combine text with images. That’s how it’s done, and that’s what Fiverr is for.If you do manage to find a graphic designer (or expert in any field for $5), that’s great. But it’s very unlikely, if not impossible. People tend to take this all too seriously, when it should be more about having fun. It’s like a big $5 store where you can get cool looking stuff without having to worry about if something breaks. Guest dzgn_101
Reply to @vectormoon: That is a really good point.I guess it’s all about perspective. If a buyer has realistic expectations then no harm is done. If a buyer comes here expecting the world and above for $5, they will most likely be suffering later. googlumooglu
A client ordered me to design a business card with a logo already provided.Logo was in jpeg format and image was so low Quality. However,I gave her a good graphic with high quality. She took that and then asked me to cancel the order and claimed that it was a poor design and “her client” has rejected that one.She was in hurry and she even never replied about the requirements asked. 😛
futurepocket
Unfortunately unless you’re a seller on Fiverr yourself you wont understand the plight of sellers … Logo design is extremely important and there are some very talented designers here on Fiverr… Just truly under valued. kreativa
I agree with @skydesigner here. Oh well…@achkouk , while everything you wrote makes sense - consider the angle you are looking at this is different. For me personally (I’m not designing logos, did some for clients) but for $5 you can get a sample or 2 - most likely a work that another client didn’t accept. In Bad JPG quality.Clients who pay more than $5 will pay for originality, source files and etc. Otherwise , who ever orders a logo here on Fiverr should have in mind that they are ordering an idea for the logo, a sample and direction where the design should go - not originality. However, the other angle is that in other countries, $5 is what you get for 8 hours of work - there for the extra effort makes sense. Or as someone stated above, they can’t promote them self as expert so they play the card on bulk orders on Fiverr…
achkouk
@simeonlafroid Yes yes yes , I agree with you , a logo is a represent for a long life company , and if it’s bad it 'll gave a bad image to the company for this reason famous brands pay millions to creat a logo @kreativa , Yes dear you’re right for poor countrys like india or pakistan 5$ a piece of cake ! 🙂
inet_solutions
I guess it varies from seller to seller. We have designers in our company so we don’t really order such services, but a friend has bought logos on here 3 times and was genuinely happy with the service. While I agree that you get what you pay for, you must acknowledge the fact that 5$ is a lot of money in some countries and it’s certainly possible that someone can be happy to spend a couple of hours and provide quality results for that little. I guess my friend was lucky in that regard.
tsweezey
I am so glad to see this thread. It’s refreshing to see a discussion that touches on logos with consideration in regard to the brand.I posted the following logo design tips in another post, so my apologies for the duplicate. I just thought it was relevant. And for what it’s worth, I don’t design logos, but I do have to deal with poorly constructed logos for site design in addition to the creation of collateral materials. Anyway, for consideration (#1 and #5 are most relevant for this discussion)…Your logo serves as a face of your brand identity, much like your face serves to identify your own identity. As such, work on your brand first, i.e. culture, values, communication style before creating a logo. A pretty logo isn’t good enough, it needs to be consistent with your brand identity.Always get your logo in a vector format. If you do, your proud new logo can be small for a website, or scaled to the size of a building.Always create at least two versions, one for a light colored background and one for a dark colored background.Stay away from those pretty color blends. They take up too many colors in the palette. As such your rotating/animated GIF banners will look blown out (255 color max), and controlling coloring integrity throughout multiple mediums will be a nightmare. Many logo artists use photoshop and illustrator templates or logo applications to create logos. It’s fast, but lacks real artistic flare. For an enduring logo, try to find someone who can actually illustrate. If you have a tagline in your logo, get one version with, and another without the tagline. Many times your logo will be very small, such as a thumbnail image. Your tagline will be too small.Stick to a minimal number of primary colors. One to three primary colors is best.I do realize that many of these tips are entirely subjective. But I do think it’s a good working guide to help avoid common design angst.
