On your phone if you have the app it will give a notification, but there’s none on the desktop site to my knowledge. You just have to watch for the alerts in your toolbar.

On the desktop site use a client like ‘Checker plus for Gmail’.

Its an extension that will give you desktop notification of any new incoming em-mail.
