Don't you think 20% is maybe to much of a cut for fiverr?

No, because of the marketing and support they give you. 20% is fair! Think of it this way…

Employment Agency Percent= 10%

Website Management = 5%

Customer support service for buying and selling without merchant account besides paypal = 5%

Its typical, plus the buyer fee is put in place to make sure the investors are happy with a return for an ongoing online website company which is todays age is becoming a high risk investment like a restaurant.

Yes it seems high, but as others have said. They do massive advertising. I see their ads constantly on Facebook and all over other places. One add on Facebook would run thousands of dollars per month for worldwide coverage at the display rates they are getting. Well worth 20%.

I think us sellers need to stop thinking about the $5 that the buyer pays and start thinking in terms of the $4 that we actually make (considering you only cash out after you’ve accrued $50), and price our goods/services accordingly. If you feel you are providing too much work for $4, maybe you need to offer less work for those $4 that you actually make. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but you’re in control of your price point, you have to decide how much of your time you’re willing to sell for $4.

20% is fair.

You would spend at least 20% on advertising, SEO or PPC to get traffic to your website to get the sales. Not to mention the website costs, hosting, admin. 20% is a fair rate.
