Fiverr Buyer Horror Stories!

My last four buyer experiences on Fiverr have been horrible. On each occasion the seller took my money, marked the worked as finished, failed to deliver, and then deactivated their account. Since Fiverr does not offer refunds or takes responsibilities for their sellers, I am out of twenty hard earned dollars. Fiverr’s resolution option is a joke! I will never ever, ever order any task or service from Fiverr again.

Something is not adding up. First a seller can’t mark work as finished. They can deliver the work, but can’t mark it finished. Once the work is delivered it waits for the buyer to respond by either requesting a modification or accepting the work. Only the buyer can mark the work finished, request modification or if really unhappy, request a cancellation.

Of course Fiverr CS can take action but the seller can’t do anything independently without the buyer’s consent or Fiverr CS action. I take that back. The seller can request mutual cancellation but the buyer also can reject the cancellation.

Also you can’t cancel an account when there are projects pending (in delivery).

When a seller delivers work, you have to look at it ASAP because in 3 days the order will be marked as complete by Fiverr. So, you look at the work, demand a revision if you feel it’s needed or ask for a cancellation if you truly hate it. There’s nothing I hate more than having a buyer contact me after a week with a revision demand, I might do it if I feel sympathy, but frankly, it’s insulting. I worked hard to delivered on time, the least buyers can do is see what they bought.
