I know there's a lot of posts here complaining about this or that aspect of Fiverr or saying it's going downhill or whatever, but I just wanted to share something interesting I noticed. I've been researching female vocalists on Fiverr, and have found that a majority of the accounts seem to be scams or otherwise not legitimate. (Interestingly, I haven't found this to be the case with instrumentalists, at least not obviously so.) 

Some of the characteristics shared by these accounts include: no video, or if there is video, it's unrelated to the audio or features obvious lip syncing; samples are all completely professional, radio-ready, polished commercial songs; all samples are the same; same image used for all samples; images appear to be random, generic stock images; images are in the wrong aspect ratio; no deliveries or reviews, or if there are reviews, they either seem fake, or say the profile is a scam; rambling, non-sensical, or generic profile text that seems like it was written by AI (my favorite so far is: "Do you identify as an innovative country music artist drain of the goose bump inducing lyric concept, the folklore of the blue collar trash but while needing a good well produced song?"); inclusion of Fiverr-provided text in the profile (e.g. "Here's a revised version of your Fiverr description with a smoother, professional flow"); profile text that has nothing to do with music or vocals; vocals don't seem to match the person in the image; and so on. 

I can't confirm these profiles aren't legitimate, but they certainly don't seem to be. I did report one, but I've seen like 50 to 100 of them, and I've read that Fiverr can penalize you for perceived misuse of the reporting system, so I'm not going to risk reporting any more of them. 

Obviously there are other places to hire if one isn't satisfied with Fiverr, and in any case I'm still going to try to get some work done here. But, if I'm right that these profiles aren't legitimate, it seems worth drawing attention to. In any case, I just wanted to share my findings on this and see if anyone has observed this or anything similar.
