Customer says they cannot complete their purchase because it requests my email, is this a scam or do i provide my email to this potential customer?

As soon as you see one or more of these in a message, it is a scammer (or someone who wants to violate the Fiverr rules):
- a QR code (Fiverr does not use this for orders)
- the request to share your email (Fiverr will never ask for this)
- the request to fill in your bank card details (Fiverr will never ask for this)

- the request to confirm a sale
- the request to deposit a certain amount into your bank account.
- the request to contact the buyer outside Fiverr (email, a chat program, etc.).
- a payment message
- being asked to provide funds to get an order (Fiverr will never ask for this)
- stating or claiming that an order has been placed when no order is visible in your active order list.

Report the buyer and block him.

Hello, I have just received the same kind of thing in my Fiverr orders. I decided to do a test by making a simulated order that I sent to the person (problem, I sent my address in the billing section, there I removed).

Good job, you tricked him well.

But avoid interactions with scammers and NEVER share your personal contact details, else Fiverr will flag you for violation of TOS and you will lose your account permanently.

Always try to avoid this kind of messages. When you get any message, just simply check your Client's profile, how many works already done, ratings and etc. A real Client never do this kind of thing. He comes to this marketplace, choose the right seller for the service, message and hire.

every message that asks you for any kind of information what so ever other than a question about your work is always a scam, stop thinking about it, block and move on

I got this and one more Message within 1 hour of posting my first Gig in that there was a QR code; the message was that your Invoice is ready, and to receive your payment, scan the Code. When scanned, it takes you to a web page with a Link (exact copy of Invoice) and the form has a button saying to receive payment, click here. With almost 15 years in this field, I could make out that this is a scam. But my question is, why can't Fiverr scan the uploaded images with the message? A QR code can easily be detected and blocked before it is uploaded.
