Buyers asking for my personal email

Question

Posted

I recently joined Fiverr and, since I published my first GIG, I've received a few messages from some buyers asking for my personal email so that they can pay for an order. Is that how it works, since the platform suggests not sharing personal information?

It's a scam. They don't need your email address for payment and Fiverr doesn't ask them to ask for it. You're right it's against Fiverr rules to give them your email address in the inbox.

I just got tricked like that. They take your card details and tell you to confirm a purchase that removes your entire credit card limit, promising to return it later. Of course, the website LOOKS official. Fiverr has to do something about this!image.png.9f75ca1b92209ff6dcc1997f2c09af52.pngimage.png.1dc9da7ec572997ac0c88743d1236299.png

I get SPAM like this from time to time and likely these accounts will eventually be suspended by FIVERR.  Never give out any personal information in chat to protect yourself.  FIVERR has you back in that regard.  But they can't help you if you work or communicate outside the platform.

The logo of the Fiverr is different. That could be one of the factor to know that it’s a scam!!
