Question

Curious if any sellers have done both and if they notice a higher ranking or more views if they use a real name? I've been a seller for 8 years with a fake name and my highest grossing year was in 2018 at $16,000. However, since then my sales have gone down the drain. This past year I didn't even make $1000. I don't know how to get my sales back other than maybe starting from scratch again. But I'm wondering if Fiverr stopped showing my profile because they only want "real" people?

Any insight would be great.

Yeah. Fiverr want real people that's why they do profile verification. I will suggest you- use your real name and use your photo at the profile. By doing this you will gain the trust of the buyers. I hope you will do good in the future.

Hi!

A seller's name doesn't usually impact their performance within the algorithm.

As @tanjilaruma111mentioned, including a photo of yourself can boost buyers' trust and establish a connection, helping you differentiate yourself in a competitive marketplace. Even so, that would mostly impact your conversion/clicks, rather than your impressions.

To increase your impressions, I would suggest learning more about what things the algorithm prioritizes. You can learn more about it here.

You can also ask the community for some advice on your gigs on the Gig Advice board here.

Would you trust someone that shares their own image and name when compared to someone with a random/fake name, if you want to buy something? I guess that's self-explanatory.
